Batman smellsPrompted by the "Jingle Bells" entry at Buzz's, how many ways are there to finish the following:
(*Ahem*) "Jingle bells, Batman smells..."
I'm asking this because I learned it one way and my kids sing it another and I think the way they sing it is stupid. However, since they don't really know about the Commissioner, my way doesn't make sense to them.

For Local Blog

I only know of one.
"Robin laid an egg"....
My version has Buddha laying the egg, but I don't think that version is very widely known.
..."Batman smells, Robin laid an egg,
the batmobile lost a wheel and the Joker got awaaaaay, hey!"
First off...Ouch to buzz's version..very ouch.
The only version I know is what Tiffany wrote.
Sorry
Well, there's the revised version that "Spongebob Squarepants" did with "Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy" too, which is like the version everyone's singing up there.
What's the version with the commissioner?
I've heard it the same way Tiffany has.
I always thought it was "Batman smells 50 miles away..." but I can't remember the rest.
Well, as an "official" music teacher, I can honestly say that Tiffany's version is the correct one! :)
This is the way that I learned it back in elementary school-
Jingle bells, batman smells
Robin lays an egg
The Batmobile lost a wheel and the Joker got away.
Corny.. lol Now how does the commissioner version go?
Jingle bell Batman smells,
Robins's gone away,
The Batmobile lost it's wheel
All on a Christmas day!
Actually, this version...
"Batman smells, Robin laid an egg,
the batmobile lost a wheel and the Joker got awaaaaay!"
...is canon because the Joker himself sang it one a "very special" Christmas episode of the recent Batman Animated Series.
Joker (Mark Hamill) is putting the star on top of the Arkham Asylum Christmas tree, and a helicopter swoops dangling a rope ladder and ol' Pasty Face grabs it and flies away...
...
Y'know, sometimes I think I'm still just 12 years old...
New kid on the blog here. Not got time to read all source material referred to above but in Blighty they sing:
Jingle Bells
Batman smells
Robin's flown away
He landed in a football field
but he didn't know know to play
Years ago I made up a "Dashing through the snow" verse to this song:
Batman really smells
The Batmobile lost a wheel
Gotta replace it now
Robin laid an egg
Batman, ooh he stinks
The Joker got away
But the Caped Crusaders will bring him back
before the end of the day.
On the TV series at least, 'Caped Crusaders' was, like 'Dynamic Duo', another name for Batman and Robin.
Another version I heard for the first half of "Dashing through the snow", albeit with potty humor, went:
Batman in the kitchen
Robin in the hall
Joker in the bathroom
Pee-in' on the wall
I heard this verse in grade school way back 'when...
Jingle Bells, Batman Smells, etc... up to the Joker getting away and then...
Jingle Bells, jingle Bells,
The Penguin got away
He sticks his nose in Cheerios
And eats 'em every day!
Jingle Bells
Batman smells
Robin flew away
Uncle Billy
Lost his willy
On the motorway
Oh!
Jingle Bells...
jingle bells batman smells robin layed an agg.
Oh what fun it is to ride on a pair of broken ski's.
jingle bells batman smells robin layed an egg oh what fun it is to ride on a pair of broken ski's.
Dashing through the snow on a pair of broken ski's over the hills we go crashing into trees. oof ouch ahhh!
jingle bells
batman smells
robin layed an egg
and joker takes ballet HEY
jingle bells
jingle bells
penguin got away
he sticks his nose in cheerios
n eats them all day HEY
batmans in the kitchen
robins in the hall
jokers in the bathroom
PEEING ON THE WALL
OoO then back to the beginning
