Domestic Diva2004 kitchen madness:
1. Actually plugging in the crockpot helps the pot roast to cook more efficiently (OK, helps it to cook at all).
2. You can get rid of onion smell on your hands by rubbing them under running water on something made of stainless steel. It really works!

Yeah, I've been there on the crockpot thing. I once left a $16 roast in a cold crockpot--overnight. Imagine my surprise when I lifted the lid and the roast was *brown* but still raw. Ew.
does it work with garlic, too?? I had "garlic fingers" for several days....
So exactly how long did it take your roast to cook today...including the time sitting in a cold crock pot?
That's good question on garlic. Any tips? Unfortunately, cooking is not my area of expertise.
LOL... so this is cooking class? I like the onion tip.... I'll have to try that. I cooked in the oven today, roast ham & scalloped potatoes --- they are just so delicious together!
I love that Stainless Steel trick! :)
