Well. This morning was an adventure.
Remember the Busy Van "check engine light" incident from Monday? (look it up, I'm too lazy to link it). Well, we took it to our local garage and they did a few things and told us that we'd need to take it to the dealer for the rest. It was acting a little squirrely, but nothing awful.
However, on the way to school and work this morning, it decided that it would do all it's gear shifting (up to 3rd) at about 10mph. Then it would just stay in 3rd. So, I've been driving around at 4500 rpm this morning. That is, until it began cutting off every time I slowed down or stopped.
Soooo, that wouldn't have been too bad except that I'm driving around like this in 7:30am traffic. You don't make too many friends that way, I've noticed. Additionally, the dealer is dowtown and to get there, one must drive through a "less than desirable" area. I had 2 dozen Krispy Kremes with me, I figured I could have offered them to my attackers should the need have arisen.
I did make it to the dealer where he said it sounded like I had a "transmission concern". But, I could have sworn the last word came out "con$ern".

You lost me at the donuts.....
Geez, I wish I had known. I would attack anybody for a Krispy Kreme donut and really wasn't doing anything important then anyway...
Same thign happened to me with the truck...20K miles and the damn transmission went out!
Ouch ~ in my experience, transmission is spelled:
tran$mi$$ion.
Oh Gack. You are right with the con$ern. Our transmission went out on a just past warranty. $2500 LATER.......I still want to spew when I think of it. Good Luck!
Krispy Kreme is so good. My mother is like starting to water now.
Well at least you got the Krispy Kremes before taking the car in, because you certainly won't be able to afford them once you get the car back.
I just went thru the "transmission con$ern". I feel for ya. Be prepared to sell the first born and take on borders.
$orry for your bad luck, our$ wa$ on for 4 month$ with no problem and I $till don't know what they did to fix it, maybe they ju$t unplugged the light. Hope it all work$ out and it doe$n't CO$T too much.
Recently my Honda had work involving a head ga$ket and $trutS and a $spring. . . I was already worried that I had put more $$ into it than it's worth and now this discussion has me wondering about the life expectancy of the transmission:-O
