Daytime Running Lights

I had to run out for a while here during the work day and, as I was traveling along, I noticed that some cars had their headlights on and some didn't. I'd say it was about 35% on and 65% off.

I know in some other countries, DRLs are mandatory, but there seems to be some controversy regarding their use.

Do you use them? I sometimes do on the Interstate, but not usually around town.

UPDATE: yeah, yeah, yeah, I know my car is old, I don't have fancy new things like automatic DRLs!

I use them all of the time. Other cars are more likely to see you.

My car automatically has DRL, I don't have to turn them on. I think it's the law for all new cars in Canada.

I also think it's a good idea, but If I had to manually turn them on I would never remember to turn them off when I got out of the car.

just like Stacey, my car turns on my lights automatically when I turn it on. I am glad its automatic because I would probably continue to forget to turn them on.

mine run automatically... so yes.

I always turn mine on (my car does not do it automatically). I don't even know how I picked up the habit, but I do it without even thinking about it.

I dont have automatic lights either - and I dont turn mine on, only if its getting dark, but I dont have a problem with people who do.

Both are cars have it automatically and I'm glad. In upstate NY it is hilly, cloudy, and often foggy in the mornings. That extra 1/2 second earlier that someone spots my car could save my life.

In my state, DRL is required only when it rains. Windshield wipers and DRL go together. Other than that, I don't turn them on unless there is a sign asking for lights on as a safety thing on a dangerous road such as a mountain road or any kind of twisty, turvy, hilly type of pavement.

I know that its mandatory in Canada, which now makes me think that we never turned them on when we were over there last time, oops. GM I believe has DRL's in almost all their cars. I think that is cool. I don't know why us at Ford haven't done that yet, but I figure its because we aren't required to in the states, I know that we do in Canada.

DRL means lower insurance premiums, too. So there's a good excuse to go buy a new car!

Like the new look (but the pink is killing me) especially like the blue sky with flower banner.

Like many others here, I have no choice...but then again, it does lower the insurance premiums, so that's good in the long-run, right?

And I love the new color scheme and look....man, now I feel like I should change my template...

I noticed that you visited my site...I think your site is very pretty. I look forward to reading more.

yeah- everyday. I have no choice because they always stay on.
