10 year old comedy

I forgot these classic lines from the birthday party Friday. Busy Girl's "advanced" friend, you know the one with the FunDad from a couple of weeks ago had a couple of good lines.

First, in the car on the way to the game, the girls were changing clothes (yet again) and someone said:

"Hey, how do these earrings look?" (don't start me on 10 year olds and earrings, it wasn't my kid). Advanced Busy Friend answers with sincerity, "Oh, they look great!" and then adds, "if you're trying to impress a clown."

In another 10 year old stand-up comedy moment, Busy Girl says something like, "I think Will likes me, he's always looking at me in class." Advanced Busy Friend replies: "He looks at you because you're talking. You're supposed to look at someone when they talk."

OK, well, I thought it was kinda funny...

Oh My... I think I might have been laughing if that was coming out of a 10 year old too!

How did you keep a straight face?

Well - it IS kind of funny. Growing up is kind of funny

"Advanced Busy Friend"-hilarious name and comment! Have you seen "13 Going On 30"? I thought there were some cute lines in it and the young Jenna resembled my pre-teen, Lizzie.

I'd have been up front driving and upon hearing these things, I would have been trying to keep a straight face and I would have started snorting lightly under the strain... at which point my loving daughter would say (for about the 30th time), You don't listen in on my conversations, eh Mom?

Not intentionally!

Gee whiz! Advanced Busy friend is just a little catty with that clown and earring remark. It's too funny how grown up they were all trying to be.

It is hilarious! I have a 6 year old whose dry wit reminds me of a 40 year old!

That is really funny!! :-D I love that comment about someone looking at you. LOL

Hey - those are great lines...I'm stealing them! heheh.

Was there a return comment after the, "...if you're trying to impress a clown,"? Or did the earring wearer just shrug it off? I like the way that kids are able to shrug things off and then just move on.

I'm liking ABF. Can I take it to work with me? *lol*
