Sunday, November 21
Cheesy, like Sunday morning

Yes, the sight I saw at the mall was a real monkey. I may try to go back to get a picture. As for Santa in November, it's just not right, so I'm thinking maybe hat wasn't Santa at all, but one of his helpers dressed like him. They do that sometimes.

I will say, though, this premature exclamation of the Holiday Season has been helpful to me in a way. We aren't usually known for our timely Christmas preparations, but this year has been different. I have even completed some Christmas shopping. I'm pretty proud of myself, although the true test will be if I can wrap them or not. Last year, I was up until 3:30 am wrapping gifts. Yes, I know. Whatever you're going to say, I know. Even the kids are getting in on this new found timeliness. The picture to the left is Busy Boy's Christmas list. Already attached to the fireplace for Santa's shopping convenience.

I saw Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason last night. I liked it, it's gotten some pretty "meh" reviews, but I thought it was cute. I mean, it's not exactly supposed to be food for thought or anything. I went with a group of friends and it cracked me up as there were probably 2 guys in the theater.

My best friend, the one that gave me the 4 day 40th birthday celebration back in September, had a group over for dinner and then we went to the movie. Dinner involved appetizers and a sit down meal in a fall-themed wonderland complete with pumpkin shaped soup tureens and fall china. Do you know how hard it is to have Martha Stewart as a best friend? No, not the one in jail, the other one here in my town. I would have been happy to have people over, but they would have had to ooh and ahh over whatever new paper plates I have and we'd have chips and salsa.

Anyway, Happy Sunday to all. Coffee's ready, anyone want a fresh cup?

Christmas has already arrived in my neck of the woods, too. One of the radio stations has already switched to 24/7 Christmas carols. I've already bought and wrapped most of my presents, but the downside to that is I can't remember now what the heck I bought for everyone. I really should have made a list.

P.S. I love your wingback! That upholstery is gorgeous.

Thanks, but I already have a cup. I attempted to sleep in today, but hubby got up and put on coffee, and once I smell fresh coffee, I just HAVE to get up to have some! Happy Sunday!

I took the boys to the first Christmas parade of the season last night. Sorry, I just couldn't get into it.

I like the looks of Busy Boy's list, though! ;)

Here, on the military base, Christmas has been 'out' since it was time to shop for school supplies.
Beginning in a week or so, the German Kristkringle markets open!! Markets in almost every city!! Nothing like warm Gluwein to 'help' with the Christmas shopping!

Your evening sounds wonderful-I love nothing more than an outing with girlfriends; I usually do one about 3-4 times a month. (usually coffee dates because they are the easiest and most flexible) I have also done some Christmas shopping--yeah. Since I didn't write it on a list, I will have to sort it all now and figure out what I have for whom. Why can't I be more organized??

Love all the "please's" at the end of Busy Boy's list :)

"premature exclamation"

Am I the only one skimming too fast who saw that phrase differently??

I chucked over your comment about paper plates and your Martha Stuart friend.

I have dreams of Martha Stewart parties... but pretty paper plates is closer to reality!

Thanks for the laugh!

My kids are going to see Santa next Monday. And I've seen two houses in my neighborhood with Christmas trees up--including the family across the street from me.

LMAO...that's the longest Christmas list I've ever seen.
