Sock Monkey Friday

In an effort to have a more entertaining blog, I have decided I need a weekly "angle", something for you, dear reader, to look forward to. You know, like "Monday Madness" or something like that.

I'm sure I'd be no good at a meme or a quiz, so I am starting "Sock Monkey Friday". So here is the first one. Actually, I may have to rethink this whole thing as I don't own a sock monkey and I have had to resort to posting other people's images of said monkey. Furthermore, I'm not sure what one would do on a "Sock Monkey Friday", anyway. Any ideas?

Why yes, I am the only one in the office today this close to a holiday, why do you ask?

Sock monkeys. What exactly do you put in your coffee?

Hi there Busy Mom!

Important job... holding down the office... all by yourself!

Have a nice Easter weekend! Are you cooking?

My mother-in-law invited us over... I'm in charge of the green salad (I'm still doing the diet thingy...)

NO! Oh Busy Mom, NO. For the love of crazy marsupials, please do not have Sock Monkey Friday! Sock monkeys freak me the hell out. (You should know that, my twin.) I don't want to have to avoid your site EVERY FRIDAY!

Here's an idea on what to do on Sock Monkey Friday...burn them ALL.
(Hey, it's just a suggestion!)

Sorry - you are not the only one working in the office on Good Friday! It is so boring, I am even getting tired of web-surfing. I just finished ordering summer clothes for the kids and I can't think of anything else I need to purchase online. Didn't think that would EVER happen. Have a Great Easter!

Sock monkeys... goodness, I haven't seen them in years. How cute.

:)

I bet you could find a lot of variations of sock monkey's at the hgtv web site, specifically the Carol Duvall show..she's got them on all the time.
Can you hear the crickets chirping in your office too? They're driving me buggy ;D

Hey, I'm at the office. Apparently Major Medical Universities don't believe in taking off MOST holiday's.

But hey, I'm not bitter at all. Well, at least not as much as I was before I found out you were working too. heh

Hmmm....

You could talk about weird toys from ours childhoods. The burns we got from our first generation Easy Bake Ovens. The scary/creepy stuffed animals/dolls we were given over the years. The dangerous toys that were given to kids in generations past (like lawn darts). Etc. :-)

Ann

Those always freaked me out as a kid. In fact they still do.

Punch out a chimpanzee?

Just an idea. ;)

Hey, do you want to be "a winner" or do you wnat MUSIC?!?!

Just a thought... and an appeal for somewhere to send this puppy).

Sock monkeys? You are one desperate blogger, Busy Mom!

Sock monkeys remind me of my prom date.

I for one enjoy tales of your rock-star life ... it's still more exciting than mine right now. I look forward to when my kids start soccer and I am an actual soccer mom. You're very entertaining as is. thanks!

I have a sock monkey - - I've had her since I was about six years old and her name is Lucy. So on behalf of Lucy I think Sock Monkey Friday is a great idea - - you could have the Sock Monkey ask one question a week about whatever topic comes to mind ;)

I like Reilly's idea with a twist. I think you could make the sock monkey like Dear Abby. We can ask her (is it a her?) for advice and she can respond.

Dear Busy Sock Monkey

Do you think it would be wrong to punch out the accountant in my office? She is very mean if that makes any difference.

Barbara

...I was so hoping that sock monkey's were on the endangered species list... but I love Barbara's Dear BusySockMonkey advice column idea.

Wow, my son had a sock monkey when he was a baby, it was his favorite toy, and after a while it really looked ugly. He is 23 now and says he still has it put away in box.

Our apologies to the monkey, but we're much cuter on Photo Fridays at the Summerhill Kitten Farm (http://www.kew.com/blog/kitten/)

i think sock monkey friday has potential, but you have to spice it up a little bit. no panties sock monkey friday is more like it! =)

Can't say I have any great ideas for "Sock Monkey Friday," but they sure do bring back memories! :)

Ok, my attempt at this.is.nashville didn't go as I found out too late that the domain, thisisnashville.com links to a porn site. yikes. Well, I've created another url and I've already secured the domain. My new new blog is at http://www.nashvilleis.com

Please help me spread the word, if you could.
thanks,
Kevin

You could use it like Frank Wycheck does on 104.5 and use the feedback area so anyone can tell someone that's bugging them to 'Put a big ol' nasty SOCKMONKEY in it!' A weekly way to vent peacefully to clear your mind for the weekend ahead! A sad thought; but I get so sucked into the scripted reading Wycheck does when reading commercials on the air...
