Blathering on

I have had weird stuff going on all day. The last event was a bizarre phone message I got on my voice mail. It was some lady in another city wanting somebody to be transferred to MMC because he is "vomickin' and a' painin' in his head". Though this couldn't be any further from what it is I do, I felt like I should call her back and try to help. The number she left was obviously wrong, though the owner of that number spoke pretty much the same language. I gave up in exasperation.

Me: "Geez, what is it today? Wait, am I on Punk'd or Candid Camera or something?"
Busy Chatty Employee: "If you are, then they sure will be using the 'bleep' thingy a lot."

Some days are just like that. I deal with quite a few people at work who really don't know a lot of English. Makes for interesting conversations. I especially love it when they leave you their phone number on voice mail, and it's 1 number short.

Just give her a day or two and she'll call back cussing you out because you didn't do the records transfer. Never mind that the number she left wasn't her real number or that she probably didn't bother to leave the patient real name or birthdate. Happens at our office ALL. THE. TIME.

Sort of gives triage new meaning...

My SIL recently got a call from Pakistan at 2 in the morning from a woman who's adult son had not called her lately. Wanted to know if SIL would go outside and look around for a nice Pakistani boy and see if it might be her son and get him to call her.

Ummmmnnn.

This lady just called a number similar to his number - apparently she has no idea how large NYC is!

Will forward our correcr number, immediately.
