Rise and shine, cupcakes!

Our next door neighbors here in vacationland seem to have a large group of teens, mostly boys, with them. The boys have all been very polite when we have seen them in passing and I've wondered if they are actually that polite or if they are making fun of us. Now, I'm pretty sure they'll be making fun of us since we called the sheriff's department on them last night.

We can take lots of things, we're not spoil sports by any means, but they were congregated in front of their condo on the walkway (it's on the 2nd floor so it's not like they were spilling out into a parking lot or anything) last night and they were all in a fight about something another. They were literally right outside our front bedroom windows, running up and down yelling, etc. The kicker is that I'm sure I saw the parents out there with them earlier in the evening. I went out twice and ve-ry pleasantly asked them hold it down since my kids were asleep. They didn't and the law cleared them out around midnight, but they continued to, what seemed like violently moving furniture, inside until I don't know how late.

Excuse me now, while I wake my kids up and let them play the game out front where they ride their scooters up and down the front walkway while dragging pieces of driftwood along the front of the building. And, wouldn't it be unfortunate if The Preschooler Formerly Known as Busy Baby threw a tantrum about something while he was outside?

OK, I'm just kidding. They don't really have driftwood, it's just some random pieces of wood trim from construction.

Oh,I would definately let them play right outside their door.

ohhh yeah.... that's how we get back at our 20-something/bachelor/still-hasn't outgrown-frat-boy-life next door neighbor who plays drinking games in his backyard until all hours of the night. (complete with soundtrack)

We take the kid outside bright and early... 7a.mish and let him go wild. Swing! Sandbox! Screaming! Weeeeeeeee! It's so cathartic.

A stick and a big pan might be fun for The Preschooler outside their living room windows.

I second Hoss's idea.

I dunno - flaming bag of poo sounds like a fun thing to try....heck, it wouldn't even HAVE to be flaming or in a bag....

Swap the drift wood for tin cans tided to the back of the scooters.

Lacrosse balls. They make a TON of noise when they bounce--I'll bet your kids could really do some damage with those babies.

Maybe they could hit them with the random pieces of wood from the construction site.

I dunno, seems like a very good time to start teaching someone to play the violin ... or the trumpet. ;)

Let them leave a "Steamy Surprise" outside of their door.

I would've sprayed them down with a hose.

Same thng happened to us as we were temporarily in an apartment during our move. An apartment. The night of the university's graduation. Looooots of drunk college students. They loved my kids the next morning.

Get the kids some whistles for tomorrow morning! if you need to, that is. Hopefully they won't do that to you again!

Do you feel like "neighbors" met on vacation are easier to talk to than real neighbors around you? Elevator license I suppose.
