School suply time! When I was growing up, my mother and I used to go out to lunch and school supply shopping with my friend and her mother. It was a tradition and I now I get to carry it on with my kids and their friends. Tonight is school supply shopping night, I LOVE school supplies! We're headed out to dinner and to Target. I guess I missed today's huddle. I won't be upsold, though.

I just got back from Target for our supply shopping. Got everything but clipboards and "white magic erasers". Gah. Now I'll have to go to an office supply store.
Also picked up some cute clothes for all of us, extra hand sanitizers, some shoes for Emma, and various other items I didn't think I needed...
$300 later....
I love me some school supplies. my ds's school has you pay a fee, and they purchase the supplies for all the kids so everyone has the same thing. no fair!!!!!
I hate school supply shopping! Once I get the rest of Emily's list, I'll just email it to you and you can pick them up for me, okay?
I love new school supplies! Thant's the very best part of going back to school. Nothing like a new box of crayons!
Have fun!
I went back to school, in one form or another, from kindergarden until my first son was born (no I was not 'slow'; I taught for ten years after college). And every August, before school started, I would get new shoes and a new bag.
I haven't taught in five years, but I still get the new shoes and new bag. It's not fall without back-to-school shoes!
We did the supply shopping weeks ago - the first day Walmart got all their stuff in. The kids couldn't wait; since they are going to public school for the first time, this was the first school supply shopping experience. TODAY we hit TARGET , amongst other places, to buy clothes!
Don't forget to stop buy Plato's Closet in Cool Springs for cool clothes for your teenagers (without breaking the bank of course.
;)
Oh oh i did with my son. at target of course. a lot of good sales. it was so much fun. it was the first year we did it. he's starting kinder in Sept.
I hate school supply shopping, especially when the list isn't specific enough and you have to guess on the quantity, size, brand, etc...For high school, Alison has no specific supply list except that we know that she needs a graphing calculator for the math she's in. ($100)
Stand your ground, girl!
Oh you are the best for keeping us all up to date on Target. Muchas gracias!! The 6yo and I will def. head out there this weekend. She needs a new lunchbox as well as all the other stuff. And in public school, we're uniform-less, but she has literally outgrown EVERYTHING she owns that was acceptable for school back in the spring. Sigh. I think I should be used to this as a part of parenting by now, but somehow, growth continues to catch me off guard. Ooooh maybe we'll check out the new SuperTarget. I've been wanting an excuse to visit.
My first time at your site, love it! That was really funny about the Target huddle, I wish I was that assertive, I probably would've let him sell me half the store! Eek!
Don't forget to get a Trapper Keeper!
Your story makes me think of my favorite Staples commercial with the guy taking his kids shopping for school supplies while Andy Williams sings "It's The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year".
I can just imagine you gleefully gliding across the screen on the end of a shopping cart while dumping handfuls of pencils into it.
I cannot WAIT until we get to do the school supply shopping! GREAT TIMES!
