It's like a great big slumber party with no definite end!

Our friends made it here from New Orleans safe and sound. They have kids approximately our kids ages, so it's like a big weeknight slumber party! They have a teenager, too, so Busy Dad is taking her to school with him tomorrow to see some of her friends she knows from summer camp.

We're hanging out playing the Weather Channel Drinking Game. Every time they say the following phrases, drink accordingly:
"outer bands"= 4 drinks
"storm surge"= 3 drinks
"eye wall" = 1 drink
"hunker down"= bonus points
"contra flow"=2 points

It could be a riot, but, when you play it with ice water and Diet Coke, it's just not the game it could be.

Wish I'd thought of that as we watched Hurricane Geraldo say:

1. biblical proportions
2. toxic cess pool
3. ancient graves will give up their dead
4. the perfect storm (you knew he'd go there)

Oh, and when asked why they were still in NO, someone told Shep Smith, LIVE, that it was none of his F-ing business... classic live TV moment.

Oh, and you better hunker down, since we are supposed to get hit by the outer bands on Tuesday.

Drink up.

I'm glad your friends made it there safely. Wish my in-laws were as smart!

It looks like a nasty one - thanks for the game idea, though, we are Weather Channel junkies, so we might have a go at this one after the kiddies are in bed!

Glad your friends made it safely.
Keeping an eye on Fox news. (Yes - we get FOX in Scotland!)
I'm breaking out the Diet Irn Bru and joining in the drinking game!
On a serious note, lets just hope that everyone out there is ok...
Take care all.

I just hope Tennessee is far enoough north...

I'm glad your friends made it there safely...have a few drinks, relax and enjoy!!

What part of TN are you in?? I used to live in Crossville! Hope fully, the weather won't be too bad there--at least you got the party in--and it was a success from the sounds of it!

Well, I'm in Ohio...and we are going to reap the ends of this horrible storm!

Take care!

That sounds like a fun game!

Yet another reason why it sucks to be a so-called responsible adult. Ahh, the vauge memories of a similar drinking game based on the smurf cartoons...

Glad your friends made it in. I commend you for watching wc. TIVO has ruined me on live tv. Could they have any more commercials? I just don't have the patience for all that drivel!

I think you should add something for using the word Atlanta. I know they are out of Marietta, but there could be a earthquake in San Francisco and they would say how it will affect Atlanta. I bet they couldn't go a day without saying it

Ya' might want to stock up on bathroom supplies with all that drinking. ;)

Looks like the Big Easy is getting hit pretty hard - glad your friends made it out OK. I hope their home makes it through too.

Is it completely terrible that I'm kicking myself for not making it to Jazzfest this year? Aside from the real concerns for people & their property, I'm feeling kind of bummed that I've never been to New Orleans.

Oh and watch out... looks like Katrina is headed for TN next! Stay safe!

Glad your friends made it safely! I almost peed my pants about the MTV for old people reference ...

Wait'll the storms hit Nashville and you'll have a whole new facet to your game.

Pick your city and if it gets "storm-tracked" drain your drink. (I myself prefer Bell Buckle.)

Also, everyone gets to drink (Social!) when they say "tornadic"... is that even a word?!?

I'm too late for the game, but I'll be happy to pick up the pieces.

I like that game, but on a weekday, I would have to play it with my Minute Maid light. I could do sips, but not a whole drink.
