Lot's going on today! I had an 8am dentist appointment, went to work, went to the visitation for my friend's mother, went to the funeral Mass, came home, took Busy Boy to the doctor, picked up The Preschooler Formerly Known as Busy Baby and came home to "hunker down" (bonus points) because it's our turn with Katrina. Schools are closed tomorrow, lots of flooding and possible tornadoes expected. We haven't told the kids yet, we'll probably surprise them in the morning. Batteries are stocked and we're hoping the trees stay upright.
It's possible that our friends here from New Orleans lost everything, there isn't confirmation, but they have reason to believe their house is totally under water. I sure hope not. News is saying residents shouldn't plan on coming back for a month. We want them to stay as long as they need to, maybe I can get them to start blogging about it? Please say some prayers.

Sending lots of good thoughts to you and your friends.
Saying prayers and counting blessings as we speak. Hunker down and be safe! You can always evacuate to Pawleys Island!
our school is closed too, busymom. the great race for childcare begins, hahaha. we are splitting the day.
it is saying on teh news that we will probably get some tornados!! you better put that new van in the garage!!
Hope your friends are able to salvage something from the storm. We are still awaiting news from our family in Biloxi. What I wouldn't give to have them here.
Yes, we'll Pray that your friends DIDN'T loose everything but I'm sure they are thankful to have friends like you to open your home to them for how ever long it takes. So Busy Dad and Busy Kids are all off tomorrow, what about you! We also have a stock of batteries, etc. but our dad and college son have to go to work/school tomorrow. Maybe our weather won't be as bad as the news predicts. But according to our channels 2 and 5, it doesn't look to promising. A tornado or 2 ?? stay away from trees and we have plenty of them also. So its "hunker down" for us too, in Wm'son Co.
You are a gem to help your friends out...prayers to all of you tonight and tomorrow and in the days to come.
Prayers for you AND your friends. I lost a great deal in the 1994 Northridge quake. It wasn't everything though, so I can't imagine. In spite of the loss, I gained a lot. I learned the huge value of friends and family- people like you who were there to help us when we needed it. God bless.
I'm saying lots of prayers. Those poor people, what a mess.
What great friends you are.
I'm pullng for your friends and their home. It's just not looking good right now..I also hope you're all right there, I missed it thank goodness...
So sorry for your friends. Hope the 'hunkering' goes well.
I think a Refugee House Guest Blog is a great idea. And get TPFKABB writing about it, too! (You know I have a little crush on him.)
Prayers are on their way. I wish all of you the very best.
Prayers for you and your friends. Suddenly I'm grateful for the less than ideal Wisconsin weather.
Can you imagine your home under water?
It goes without saying, but I'll say it any way. Be safe.

Praying for your friends...
We're with you all....
Will send prayers indeed
Prayers being sent from Canada. Glad they are safe with you.
Your friends are lucky to have someone like you.
Prayers your way for your family and friends.
Glad everyone is ok. I did notice that almost all the schools were closed. I forgot to add a couple of weather phrases that should be a part of the drinking game. 1) Dangerous Lightning - like there is non-dangerous lightning, duh! 2)Isolated Tornadoes - aren't all tornadoes isolated! It is not like there are "wide-spread tornadoes" talk about sensationalizing something!
