Coffee of the Day: Spilled all over the floor of the Busy Van (it was Maxwell House for those of you playing along at home)
Listening to: Radio Margaritaville
Today's Mental Jukebox Selection: It is a special kind of hell to have a Lindsey Lohan song stuck in your brain, let me tell you.
Thinking: I really, really, really need to take a Christmas card picture soon
Reading: "Not Tonight Honey, Wait "Til I'm a Size Six" by Susan Reinhardt
Wasting time: here
Happy that he's back: this guy
Abandoned post of the day: I was going to write someting profound about how my parent's generation seemed to find the time to just sit and enjoy good conversation with friends. I was reminiscing about when I was a kid and, in the summer, the adults would sit outside in their folding lawnchairs and just talk. Then I realized that few of them were actually sober and several were probably tranquilized and it probably would have been hard to do anything else but sit and Lord only knows what the conversations were actually like. That post just didn't really "take off" after that, ya know?

Okay, that wasting time thing just about put me over the edge... I think I need to go sit in a folding lawn chair now.

Good luck with the family picture. We still need to get ours done also.

Lindsay Lohan -- Good Greif woman, I do so feel for you. Every time she appears on Disney Channel (a video of her song from Herbie is on at least once a night it seems, or at least on the re-runs I have recorded on the TIVO for TheKid), I run for another room (or if on TIVO, hit the FF button as quick as possible).

16.44 seconds my first try on escape. I can see how that can get to an obsession thing.

Drunk or not, lawn chairs or in front of the Tele... the parent's generation, regardless of the reason, still found the time that we seem to be so sorely lacking today. And you have to wonder WHY?

I got the picture while the boy was home from college last weekend (and posted about it just today). Now that it's out of the way, I can go find a bottle of wine and some friends to chat with, right?

Drunk and tranquilized in a lawn chair sounds like my idea of heaven. Or my memories of college. Same thing. And those conversations? They were PROFOUND, baby. At least I think they were.

Oh crap. Forgot about the picture. Now to choose a day when we'll all be at home, in agreeable moods and least likely to destroy our clothing...oh yeah. We don't have those anymore!

My parents had time to sit because they had 7 kids to do the work, dishes, housecleaning, feeding the animals, gardening, etc.

Hi I realy like your web site alot. I add it to my blog and will add to another web site at http://www.chubbyscomputers.com/NorrisPages.html

Wow, that sounds intense. Lohan must have put a spell on you. (And now for the shameless plug)...If ever that happens again, go to the Song of the Day on my Posted by: Brian J. Hong | November 30, 2005 12:01 PM

That time waster has me hooked! But, like in my old Tetris days, my addictions never pay off - I suck! My longest time was 9.46 seconds.

I wasted some time--the longest consecutive amount (thus far) being 16.704. How'd you do? Talk about addictive!!

I read the Reinhardt book, too. You know who I think is even better? Celia Rivenbark--"We're Just Like You, Only Prettier" and "Bless Your Heart, Tramp." Another Southern humorist who I've met a few times and really like is Jill Connor Browne. "The Sweet Potato Queens' Big Ass Cookbook And Financial Planner" is my favorite of hers. She has a new book coming out soon.

And I'm happy that you're happy! Thanks for noticing, BM!

Lawn chairs...ahhhhhhh.

Tell me the truth
Did you ever love me
These are these are the confessions of a broken heart

Sorry about the spilled coffee...too bad you didn't fill your cup with the coffee I made this morning - talk about "light" I forgot to put the grinds in!

It wouldn't have done much for your mood...but heck, if you're just POURING it on the floor of the van anyway, may as well let it be stain-free.

The CH would like to thank you for introducing yet another thing to waste my time and keep me from folding laundry, cleaning the house, entertaining the children, and performing my wifely duties! You can hear me in the background, "Just one more time, I know I can last a little longer!"

The reality is, those converations were too often forced and boring ... even when drunk.

After all these months of witnessing your brilliant blog, I've come to one conclusion:

You are rather clumsy, but it doesn't hurt self-esteem.

Sincerely,

Dr. Laura

Ugh! The Christmas card photo - I haven't taken it yet either. I actually have a full two-page spread in my photo album from last Christmas called "The Anatomy of a Christmas Card". It consisted of the "best of the worst" photos from trying to get "the shot".

Thank goodness for digital...as I think there were close to 100 photos from four different sessions...and only one I liked for a Christmas card.
