The Busy Family attempts to play Hide and Seek

Fun for the whole family, right? Who knew there were so many nuances of one person count, the other people hide and wait to be found?

The Preschooler Formerly Known as Busy Baby: "I'm going to count to 48 on my watch, and, instead of looking for everyone, I'm going to announce a hiding place, run there and yell for you to come find me."

Busy Boy: "I'm going to scream and run around. Hey, let's make it, 'Hide and Go Slap'. Wait, The Preschooler Formerly Known as Busy Baby isn't playing right, he's cheating! I know he's only 3, but he's cheating! Every time I get found, I'm going to blame it on Busy Girl, she's telling my hiding place!"

Busy Girl: "I'm should help my baby brother play the game, it's not hard, but, I can't stand it if anyone thinks I don't know what's going on, so, I'm going to make it apparent that I know where everyone is hiding without actually giving their hiding place away."

Busy Dad: "I'm going to hide near the TV."

Toooo funny.

I'd be hiding at Panera.

I'll be hiding on the couch (prone) in the same room as Busy Dad playing the game with my eyes shut! (Someone please wipe my drool and DO NOT wake me up to tell me I'm snoring. I have a cold!)

Sounds like a nice time to hide in a bubble filled bath tub with a good book to keep you company, since they'll never look there.

*still giggling* I laughed hard enough at your post, I figured it was worth describing our recent version of your chaos on my blog (picture my nephew (13) teaching our 3 1/2 year old and 21 month old how to play the game).

I think I'LL go hide under the covers and pretend I'm sleeping :)

My favorite verson of the game is where one person hides and everyone else looks for him/her... and when they find him/her they hide with in the same place, as does the next person to find the 'hider' until the last person finds the whole group. I think we use to call it 'sardines'. But a word the the wise - watch the kids VERY closely if they are playing this one Co-ed - We use to have way too much fun playing this!!

I thought it was a way to get rid of your little brother. He hides, you forget to seek.

"Hide and Seek" is a great game Arthur used to play with his butler. Did you know he never looked?

Well, he looked a little. Funny movie:

"If you and your dirty t-shirt would take two steps backward, I could enter this dwelling."

i'll be hiding over here by the computer.

i'm with busy dad.

LOL! Playing with a 3 year old is the best. If they can't see you, you can't see them. Right? (Even if it means they are just covering their eyes!)

I'm with Holly, hiding near the computer, and the wine rack.

I'll be it. You kids go hide and stay REALLY quiet, and DON'T COME OUT until I find you!! (I don't have to go find them right now, do I?)

Ooooh... my kids play by saying "We're RIGHT HERE!!!" while mom and dad feign ignorance about their non-hiding spot. For example, my son hides under his table, and my daughter hides on the wall. As in, "If I stand really still, they can't see me!!"

We played pin the tail on the blob that is supposed to be a donkey the other night...for our ANNIVERSARY. Oh the joy!

LatteKid loves to play this game. But almost always hides under the covers of the bed. But you are not allowed to just "find" her, you have to make a big theatrical production out of not being able to find her, then noticing the lump on the bed, and being startled that it is in fact her.

Our last game of hide and seek ended up with our 3-year old stuck under the sink and our 5 year old "seeking" for something else to watch on TV.

My kids play the same way! It is a big game of arguments until one of them starts to cry.
I am going to count 4 million and go have a nap. See you after Christmas.

I lurve me some hide and maybe I'll go seek....

the secret is to find a good hiding place and stay there. :)

I wish I could go hide right now. What am I going to do with HER until Jan. 3???? I need some coffee...spiked. I love that kid, I really, really do but if I hear, "It's not fair!" one more time...!

I love hide and seek, the only problem is as soon as there is laundry to do everyone comes looking for me. I think next time I will try to hide out a the local coffee shop. Unless Christmas holidays finally get to me. Then I'll hide at the bar down the street. Don't tell anyone you saw me!
