Then her kids could go with her and I wouldn't have toBusy Girl: Can we go to Claire's today?
Me: I'm not sure we'll have time. Actually, there's never enough time for you to go to Claires, I'd be a grandmother by the time you got finished in there."
Busy Girl (mockingly): "That hurts."
Me: "Well, love hurts."
Busy Girl: "No. I meant having grandchildren. That would hurt."
(She did indeed get to go to Claire's, so, those of you with your hands on the keyboard typing furiously about my parenting skills? At ease.)

Haha! I see that she inherited your sense of humor!
Oy! Claire's is evil and obviously invented by a man wanting to get rid of his daughter and wife for five or more hours. I HATE that place!
you are a GOOD mom for going to claire's!! my eyes always roll so hard there is danger of rupture when the cutie-goth girls working there ask me if I want one of the basket things.. ugh.
Ugghh why are they always Goth girls. We almost got suckered into Claire's and it's alter evil twin Icing today. In order to avoid the place with the whole family in tow I used the excuse the mall was to crowded and we had to walk around the entire outside of the mall back to the car, just couldn't stomach it today :)
LOL! She's a smart one isn't she?!?!
Yeah, it hurts, but well worth the effort, right?
Oooh, I feel your pain. I hate Claire's!
When finally get your daughter to pick something and pay, they start pushing crap at the register!
They're evil!
Somehow we escaped Claire's today. I did have to spend two weeks at Build-a-Bear this afternoon.
You are such a good mother. I told CK1 that we not only weren't going to Limited Too today, we weren't going at any time in the next week! She pouted until I asked if she wanted to visit Mommy at the psych ward. She offered to wait until next week. She's such a good girl!
Why don't we have a Claire's here in Utah. Stupid Utah! Hey and speaking of Utah, you must tell me about your friend. Happy Day after.
Ahhhh Claire's.....what a great store. It is my equivelent for me to go look at tools or office supplies/computer equipment/electronics for hours.....it is the only way I can get them back when they say I spend too much time looking at them. :-)
Any possibility that place will have tanked in 5 years when my Sweetpea hits the tween years? Yeah, I didn't think so, *sigh*. Hmmm, maybe her older cousins can take her! Now that's thinking ahead!
ha ha ha.My girls love Claire's too.
I started sweating as soon as I read Claire's...
At least she knows how to accessorize. Tee hee.
And STILL Claire's is having financial challenges. One has to wonder ... ;)

Ahh Claires, is that what I have to look forward to? ACK! Raising girlies. BTW, busy mom, I went on a little hiatus with finals and christmas but I am back in the saddle. :)
Claire's is a black hole - a bright, shiny, sparkly black hole that sucks little girls inside, never to return unless you buy two, get one free.
Going or not going to Claire's is now a measurement of parenting skills? I think many of us can say a collective "uh oh". But of course, there is no need to feel guilt about refusing to go to Claire's. When the kids ask for things they want and I don't agree with them, then I bring in Mick Jagger to tell them "You can't always get what you want, you try sometimes, you just might find, you get what you need!" I've got it down to a science after saying this for years, so now I only have to respond, "What does Mick say?" That's right folks, I use Mick Jagger as a parenting tool!
Thanking God my child is a boy. We will NOT be going to Claire's!
Claire's has a cot and small TV for me in the back. That's how much time we spend there.
