Mother updateI stand corrected on the cardiologist thing. Heart looks pretty good (for her), the problem is that she has a partially collapsed lung and some fluid around it. I'm not sure who's going to do what about it, or, when, but I think the pulmonologist is coming tomorrow. They're not sure why it collapsed, but, it could be from the (lung) cancer. If so, that's not really a good sign. She feels OK, really tired and hard to breathe on exertion. When she's still, there's not really a problem. So, that's where we are. I'm on the way back to the hospital in a little while here.

Your mom must be so relieved to know that you're around to nose around the hospital for her. My dad's a doctor and whenever there's a health crisis, I'm especially thankful to have him.
Please let me know if you need anything. Really. My schedule's pretty much empty this week.
Glad to hear that they found the problem. I will keep your Mom and your family in my prayers.
I think knowing what the problem is, is half the battle. I hope your Mom is feeling better soon. But don't forget to take care of yourself too.
you and your family are in my thoughts. your mom is lucky to have you as an advocate, and as a loving daughter.
Thanks for the update--you're in my thoughts.
Glad it isn't her heart, she'll be in my prayers.
Thinking of you!

I hope she heals quickly. You've spent too much time at the hospital lately.
Hi. I am new to your blog but have read some posts. WE have just recently found out that my MIL has lung cancer. I wanted you to know that I am hooked now and you will be in my thoughts:)
It's always better to err on the side of caution, I'm glad you pushed for the cardiologist to see her anyways. Sending prayers and healing thoughts.
Hopefully things will get better soon. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
Prayers and good wishes for BusyMom's Mom & family...
Is it just me, or does it seem like maybe the doctors needed to do something to alleviate her distress right then and there when they figured out what the problem was?
Your mom is of course in my prayers.
But so are you. I have been dealing with similar issues with hospital personnel (many nurses and doctors now cringe when seeing me), so I know how taxing it can be.
Thinking of you and your mom...
Doctors! They're so frustrating! But at least they finally got to the root of the problem. Hang in there, and I'm thinking of you and your mom!
Don't forget about yourself in all of this...your mom and the rest of your family need you to take care of yourself, too. Hope your mother feels better soon.
All I can say is "good luck." And don't wear yourself out, Mom.
Sometimes fluid build up around the lungs is from cardiac related issues. (I have an Aunt having this exact problem right now.) You may not be off base. But it sounds like there may be several things that could be causing it. Thinking of you & your family.
This is the wrong kind of busy in the new year.
Your family is in my thoughts- take care.
Your and your mom will continue to be in my thoughts and prayers.
Keeping you guys in my thoughts and prayers!
Make sure you take care of yourself, too!!! And you mom is in our prayers!
You are in my thoughts and prayers. Peace be with you.
