Four basketball games (3 of the kids' and a high school game) today, one victory, the rest lost by 2 or less points. Where, oh, where, is the crime in just one of my teams winning decisively on a regular basis? It seems like every team we are associated with plays hard and wins sometimes, but it's never by much. Oh, well.
We went to a chili cook-off, paid good money for dinner for all the kids (including an extra, Busy Boy has a friend over), guided the kids through the line, and, it seems no one considered that dinner, and, the whole car was hungry again by 8pm. Gah. Why does that always happen? We can spend all evening at a party, even on Thanksgiving, and the kids have no idea that it is supposed to be the meal and we get in the car to go home, and, everyone is all, "You didn't tell us that was dinner!!"
But, the upside is that I won the grand door prize! I got 2 movie passes, dinner at a fancy restaurant and an overnight stay at a hotel suite in a nice part of town. Go, me.

ah... winning. what's *that* like, anyway? as for the "what's for dinner?" after ya already had dinner quandry? in our house, that's what cold cereal is for! glad ya had a good evening... : )
Now all that you need is a babysitter who's already been PAID. Good luck on the movie, dinner and night away!
Cool! What time should I be there? ; )
Better look up that hotel on google maps.
woohoo! what a wonderful door prize score...
that whole "you didn't tell us that was dinner" line is why i tell them it IS dinner before we even go in.
"attention, all occupants of this vehicle, we are going to a buffet/potluck/family party, I WILL NOT BE COOKING OR BUYING DINNER LATER IN THIS 24 HOUR CYCLE" you are warned.
Woohoo Congratulations on winning. Good to see that deserving people win.
Winning a basketball game...that must be a nice experience. SugarPlum's team lost yesterday 28-8. This is not unusual.
Yay you! I love winning. Don't take the kids with you to the restaurant. They would never appreciate it!
We took the children to the all-you-care-to-eat brunch buffet this morning, at a time that mostly resembled the lunch hour. They both ate two waffles, two ginormous cookies and whatever they could scavenge off of our plates.
When we came home, they said, 'What's for lunch?'
And I said . . . oh, right, family blog. Okay.
