Super Sunday

Today is Super Bowl Extra Large (XL) and we are such losers that we've not been invited to a party. I will commence chili-making here in a little while and we'll just have our own party. So there.

Super Bowl Sunday is sort of one of those "Americana" events, like Memorial Day, 4th of July and Labor Day. You may not actually want to go a party on these days, but, somewhere, deep down, you feel like you should. Don't like football? Don't care who's playing? Not the point. People everywhere will be gathering festively with friends and consuming mass quantities of mayonaise-based dips and 89 cent 2 liter bottles of Coke. Get out there and do it with them! Do it right, and you won't have to cook dinner tonight.

What? Stop whining and invite people to my house? I have about 75 loads of laundry to catch up on and I'm sporting taped together glasses. Um, no. Besides, they'd eat up all my food thinking I'm giving them a free dinner or something.

You know what's funny? I just asked my Hubs who won the game and he just looked at me like I had 6 heads. Duh, it's tonight, not last night!!

Have fun at your party! I'll be doing some laundry too!

I had no idea that was today until I read this!

NO party here either though hubs wants up to watch it. Don't even have plans to make anything other than maybe chicken bites and fries. How sad is that.

We're actually invited somewhere for the first time in about 10 years. I thought about having a party, but now that hubby was diagnosed with bronchitis, I'm glad we didn't! Plus, now I don't have to clean up - YAY!

I'm doing the laundry in between the commerical show - football is just filler for the new commercials!

The nice thing about being invited out is you get to drink THEIR beer, not yours.

P.S. I just noticed on BlogRolling that there are 462 blogs linked to your site, which makes you No. 52 in the list of the top 500. I guess a lot of them don't comment???

I'm doing laundry. I was invited to two parties, but I could attend neither. Nat (my wife) is under the weather and Elle, our three year old, is well, being three all over the place. I may turn it over to the game just to find how things are going. Maybe not.

Our 16 year old daughter got invited to a Superbowl party, but we really didn't. Our friend thought he might have one, but changed his mind. I would rather stay home, so if it goes badly I can just turn it off.

since we have no friends, party invitations are a bit of a foreign concept for us. Oh well...our dogs love us. I think.

All that stuff about laundry on Super Bowl Sunday is just BusyMom secret code isn't it..."piling on" laundry (or is that Landry?), "spin moves" in the washer, the taped-up glasses are a "wardrobe malfunction"... doesn't anyone else see the conspiracy??

We were invited, but I have decided since I really hate profootball and out kids go to bed at 7:30, I am not risking the wrath of fussy kids by taking them to the party. I plan on reading the internet and half listening to the game while Mr. Belle watchs. I only watch for the wardrobe malfunctions anyway.

What is this "Super Bowl" of which you speak?

Well, I just told Hubs I couldn't believe we weren't invited to any Super Bowl parties and he said, "We were invited to two parties. I said no."

M'kay. Thanks for letting me know.

Right now, I've actually switched off the Super Bowl in favor of a Teletubbies video, so's I can have a little R&R.
