My ears, they burn.We have a guest here at the office. She will be here for several days. She is playing the same 3 Michael Bolton songs in a repeat loop on her computer. Send help.

You know..you'd better hope it doesn't snow tonight and strand you at home with nothing but her and the Michael Bolton songs on replay.....
Of course if you did kill her, I think the judge would understand completely and only give you community service...
Take scissors out and cut the cord for her speakers. Or you could blast your music.
You could "accidently" spill a cup of coffee on her speakers, thereby shorting them out! Just make it plain coffee, tho. No sense wasting a CDL on Michael Bolton.
Is she dating him..oh, wait...that's the just engaged, not engaged, blonde housewife.
I like the thought of cutting her speaker cords. Of course, the nice way to do it would be to pull her speakers out and give her some headphones to use instead, but since it's Micheal Bolton... cut them. Hmmm, I bet you couldn't tell that I'm not too much of a Bolton fan.
BusyMom! You just need to give her a little "Time, Love, and Tenderness!"
(Hey! I'm a weekly candidate over at Everyday Hogwash. Glad heard about it from you!)
You could always counter-attack with 3 great Buffet songs.....
I love your site!!
oops....sorry...I meant 3 great BuffetT songs, not buffet songs.....that would be like muzak or elevator music or something like that.
Guest? And your being preoccupied with getting some medical records a few posts ago? Worse than the music is there the thing that rhymes with "bought it" involved?
On loop? I think it's time for some technical difficulties to mysteriously occur. You know, Michael Bolton Unplugged.
I know what would work for me...I would just start singing along, out loud. The music would be off before the first song finished...but, I bet you have a good singing voice so you'll have to try something else.
YIKES! Can you listen to your own music with headphones or would that be rude? :) I worked with a woman who had Tom Jones singing "What's New Pussycat?" whenever she had an error on her Mac. It drove me insane.
How 'bout..."Pardon me, but did you know that your computer" (shifting the blame from her to an inanimate object--clever, eh?)"is playing the same three songs in a repeat loop? Over and over?" Then just stare at her with an idiotic grin on your face, and do not break eye contact until she makes it stop.
Offer her a pair of ear buds or headphones while she's visiting.
i say, kill her computer. just put the damn thing out of its misery. it's really the only kind thing to do.
People still listen to him? That surprises me. I mean, it's the year 2006-have we learned nothing??
Grab her by the ears, look in her eyes, and say:
It it takes forever
We can work it out
Beyond a shadow of a doubt
Baby, that's what love is all about.
Then? Set fire to her computer.
Don't you need to get to work early tomorrow? Just unplug the speakers and tell her they beak all the time. NOBODY should be subjected to a Michael Bolton loop.
Are you sure there isn't some fraternity hazing going on in the next-door cubicle?
That's flagrantly torturous.
If this is not some sort of cruel hazing ritual, then you must explain to your cohabitant that it is a felonious act in 23 states to listen to perpetual Michael Bolton, and that you will be forced to call the feds if she does not comply.
You've got to admitt, the man has got a great voice. :) Not one a person should listen to repeatedly, however.
It could be worse, it could be a loop of Mariah Carey. Or just 1 song repeated, like my wife gets at work with her cube mate. Except her cube mate plays 'Photograph' by Kid Rock and Cheryl Crow. Good song, just not for 8 hours.
Oh yeah - a speaker malfunction is needed. Surely she must need to step away from the computer from time to time?
I can't say for sure, but I'm reasonably certain people have died from that.
