What will they think of next?Overheard on the shuttle this morning:
Girl: "Wow, you have a laptop computer?"
Guy: 'Yeah, but it doesn't have a battery so I have to plug in in. It doesn't have wireless either, so, I have to plug it in to the Internet. It's kind of heavy, too."
Girl: "So, it's like a very small desktop, then?"

a lot like my laptop!
Wah-ha-ha-ha! Never had one. EVER. Maybe I should step into the 21st century, huh? At least I've got this blogging thing down...
That's great. We used to call them "portable computers." Since they didn't really fit in your lap.
"Check this phone out, you don't have to worry about the battery going dead, because it's always plugged into the wall!"
LOL!
Sounds like the damn laptop I have. It about kills my back when I have to lug it around.
Yeah...real convenient! Blah.
I was going to be all funny and mention that I have the same model as guy - but it seems we all have that model.
they make laptops?
That so reminds me of the first portable computer I remember seeing. It was 1982 and the neighbor across the street brought one home. It was the size of an old AT case and when you flipped the full size keyboard off the front, it should you two 51/4 floppy drives and a 7 inch screen. I thought it was the coolest thing then. Now look where we have gotten.
i like "Girl" immensely.
I still want one...
This sounds like a great cartoon for The New Yorker magazine...
I feel so sorry for that poor girl. It must suck...OK, so I've never had a laptop, so I have no sympathy.
