The Preschooler Formerly Known as Busy Baby has had a big day. As a matter of fact, he's begging to go to bed as I type this.
We went to an Easter Egg hunt today. I, um, may have implied to him that we went for his birthday, since, he didn't get a real party with other little kids ("Hey, it's your birthday! We're going to a party!"). He had a soccer game at 3pm, no, I don't know what scheduling genius put the 3 and 4 year olds at 3pm. Only 3 kids on his team even showed up for the game. That is gettting really old, but, that's a topic for another time.
He scored 11 goals. There was no way to call him off, because we only had 3 players and the other 2 wouldn't play. Eventually, the other team put in more players, but, he just kept going. The other team had no idea what was happening, so, no one got upset.
After the game, we went to my parent's house for ice cream and cake. Tomorrow, we go to 7:30 Mass, to my parents' to hunt Easter eggs and then 2 hours down the road to my MIL's house. Then, 2 hours back. We won't be getting back on the road until after Leo's (West Wing) funeral, either.
Monday is actually sounding pretty good right now.

Whew! You're making me tired just reading all of that. Hope the Busy Family has a great Easter!
Sounds like a busy weekend! You have a DVR/VCR don't you?
i'm totally exhausted and your weekend is only 1/2 over!
i knew we were right to keep our kids from playing sports and/or having friends! (it was the only way to avoid this kind of angst... altho' our youngest figured things out when he was around 9 and demanded a sleepover party, which was a complete disaster.) sigh
happy easter, busy mom... get some rest!! ^_^
p.s. west wing promises to be "exhausting" as well... i know we'll watch, but it's just gonna be too sad to say "goodbye" to leo (aka john spencer) we loveloveloved him... i suppose they're right to cancel after this season, the show would never be the same without him.
(you probably already know this, but vinick was originally supposed to win the "election", but after john spencer died the producers thought it would bum everyone out too much...so they changed the outcome. weird, huh?)
What's the design on the cake? I'm trying to figure it out fromt he picture.
Happy birthday!!!
Mary
Ooooh, I didn't know that Neva! Interesting.
You're going to TiVo it, right? I can send you a tape, if you need me to.
Happy Birthday, PFKABB!!
Stop! Didn't he just have his third birthday (like) just a few days ago??
I'm ready to talk soccer scholarship... 11 goals?
Sounds like you're having a busy Easter -- hope it's a happy one, too!
Happy birthday to the preschooler! Soon you'll be the kindergartener formerly known as the preschooler formerly known as busy baby!
Happy belated birthday to TPFNABB. Mine was today--I'd forgotten his was so close. But perhaps a few years later...
I remember those sporting events. I felt guilty because I wanted them to be over,
Happy birthday PFKABB!
You guys sure were busy. What a way to spend your birthday/Easter!!
Busy day, Busy Mom. Hope everything went smoothly. Great pic!
Happy Easter! I was reading your 100 things wishlist and noticed that you are from the south and lover football. I am also from the south and my family are huge Auburn fans. My sister in law works at a hospital in Cape Fear North Carolina. Oh, and we must live in the deep south because it doesn't get too cold here. Be blessed stop by some time.
Happy belated birthday, Busy Boy!
WAY TO SCORE!
I have read so many blogs this morning about birthdays. And my sons, both, will have birthdays within the next 10 days. So my question is -
What WERE we all doing in July????
The whole only one kid will play is so common at that age. I coached 4 year olds and it is something. As long as he is having fun and scoring 11 goals I wouldn't worry about the others!
Go Preschooler Formerly Known as Busy Baby!
The PFKABB is a scoring machine. Tell Sports Illustrated....
wow. Happy birthday to the toddler! And congrats on the goals!
I'm a little slow. Why do they call you "Busy Mom" again?
Happy Birthday to your son! How wonderful to have a family-filled day AND score 11 goals.
*doing my sideline dance for him complete with pom pons and megaphone
Seems like just last year I read a blog here about a wee one wanting to party in his crib in the middle of the night and unable to get anyone to come to the party. Hard to believe BB is already four years old.
Love the picture you posted. A special Happy Birthday to a sweet one that will probably want to soon be referred to as Busy Big Boy!
