I am a freak: Chapter 8, 229,479, 206I was all set to write about how I (if given a choice of equally desirable spots) always choose the parking space next to the vehicle that is identical to the one I'm driving, or, that is part of a line of all the same color vehicles, but, then I realized I have no earthly idea why I do that.
Added: OK, I'm not that big of a freak, I only do it if the available spots are about the same. I won't park far away just to do it.

Wow - I always try to find the "closest" spot - either to the door or the cart return. My life would be complete if Target had a spot right up by the door between 2 cart return deals.
I also either choose the closest one to the door or the cart return. Actually, I think most of the time I'd rather be next to the cart return.
I always choose the spot that seems less likely for me to run into the other cars. I Have never hit another parked car but I have this terrible fear that I will. Very strange and leads to more exercise as I usually park a ways away.
No way! That's too funny because I have told my husband I have a theory that cars park near other cars like them -- whether similar in color or make. I don't think it's a conscious choice, though.
I look for the biggest spot. I like my spots roomy and reasonably close to the door.
I am the "lucky" owner of a handicap placard (glad to have it most of the time but angry for the reason WHY I have it) and I have actually left a parking lot because there were no available handicap spots. So, I always head to the front of the lot to find the closest "gimp" space! But, I have, on occasion, taken a close spot that is not handicap to leave it open for someone who is in worse shape than this ol' broad!
Wow - I wish I could park.... at all!
I go for the spots next to the cart return. It makes it easier getting the kids in and out, not to mention the bags as well. When we're at the mall, I go for the spot closest to the door. There's nothing more fun than shepherding small children through a parking lot, you know!
Gosh, Busy Mom. I'm worried about you.
The Mocha-Mobile is kinda new and I'm afraid to park near cars with dings or ones that scream I WAS DRIVEN HERE BY A TEENAGER. Instead, I ask her, "Darling? Where would you like to park?" and then she tells me. Sometimes I listen to my Rice Krispies, too.
Well, I always park in the same row no matter how far I have to walk into the store. There are usually much closer spots in other rows, but I HAVE to park in that same row. Don't have a clue as to why. LOL
I do the same thing as Paige: Always park in the same row. I can tell you why I do it: so I won't look like an idiot unable to find her car out in the parking lot. I've done that enough, thank you. I've never gone as far as calling the Police to report my car 'stolen'...but it's only a matter of time, I'm sure.
why in the world would ya do that?! too funny.
hope your dad is doing okay, and you talked the dr.'s office into a sooner 'removal' date.
(i park near the cart return.)
You really should not do that because some of the keys are interchangeable. Ooops!
I actually try to park at the spot furthest away! I lose my car if I park too close to others.
My closet is color coded. It allows me to find the shirt I am looking for sooner. In the interest of helping another mama seem rational, I submit that your car parking strategy operates on the same assumption. It is just easier to find the red minivan (or whatever) if it is parked in a block of red minivans.
Busy Mom-you crack me up!
I have to say that I always park by the cart return (especially at the grocery store) even if I have to walk a lot further....my husband hates it. He is one of those who will drive around for 20 minites until one by the door opens up.
I try and park by a REALLY nice, expensive car. Usually people who drive fancy cars are a little less careless and won't open their car doors and bang into your car!
I always used to choose aisle three when I go to the Wal-Mart Super Center, but then I discovered this super secret parking area between the garden center and tire & lube. Park there and you can scoot in and out through the garden center in a flash. It is a parking dream.
Wow, who knew people had so many parking spot selection methods? My process is as follows:
Hmm, car needs spot. Ooh, a spot! Car goes in spot (wherever it may be).
