Dad update

Yeah. Remember when I said there'd be no "next week" about removing my dad's catheter? I was right. It's going to be 4 weeks.

Catheters are like foreplay.

Ok...no they're not. They are convenient for long road trips, however.

Bizarre! Is there anything that can be done?

Good luck. Best wishes to both your dad and your mom.

Yikes! That is a monster long time to have a tube stuck up you. Keep us posted!

Holy crap! That's a BIG change! Ditto on keeping us posted.

Did they give a reason why they just added three weeks to your dad's sentence?

Ow. I've heard of people removing theirs; I hope he doesn't get that desperate.

Oh. My. God. That just seems insane to me. Did they give you good justification? Hmmm... Do they qualify for temporary home health care? Just a thought. Good luck, hon.

Can he go out and about with it? Or is he stuck at home. Major pain in the ....

Well, at least you didn't have to wait a week to find out that things needed to be extended.

(Yeah, so what if I am grasping at straws here. Just trying to be positive. Not that it makes it any easier I understand)

Well, crap.

Get some Pop Tarts. Right now.

And maybe some vodka, too.

Been there and done that **BUT** NOT AT HOME. Yikes. He's going to be screaming to get that thing out before 4 weeks is up and you know it! As a medical person, I know you know how to remove it but personally, I would not like to see any of my parents private parts!!!! =)

4 weeks!!!!!
That is insane!

OUCH, OUCH, and OOOOOUCH

Is this because of swelling or what? The whole thing seems odd...

Bad news! It must be shocking for him. I m really feeling his pain now.
...........those fucking, did they gave any relevant reason for extending it to 4 weeks??????
hope he recovers soon.

4 weeks seems like a long time???? is he taking this news ok?? ouch.

Oh dear. Hope he is on the mend soon. It'll be a trial, but if it helps him in the long run, then I guess it has to be that way. Best wishes to you all.

That's HORRIBLE. Crossing fingers that it's sooner than that.

Oh no! Next they'll be extending it to 2 months. Yuck! I hope they decide that's not necessary.

Sorry to hear that. I really hope they can change that time frame for both of your sakes.

ok, this may sound weird. but... you're a nurse. Can't you just pull a 'do it yourself' project?

4 weeks?? EEEK! Won't it be "ingrown" by then??!!! ugh
