I haven't written anything about the kids in a while, mainly because they're not really doing all that much.
Busy Girl is at camp, all letters to me have explicit instructions about what I should bring or send her. All letters to her father and brothers are newsy and talk about how much she misses them. Nonetheless, I shall continue my quest for doo-dads to send her in packages, and, stock up on things to give her at visiting day tomorrow. On the top of the list will be a toothbrush, as she claims to have not brushed her teeth in 3 days since she dropped he toothbrush in the shower.
We are making plans for Busy Boy to have the TV surgically removed from his eyeballs.
The Preschooler Formerly Known as Busy Baby has discovered badminton. Badminton is not a sport he can play happily alone in the back yard. Therefore we all play badminton. A lot. Care to join us?

You always make me laugh. I feel your pain with the badminton. And the plans for Busy Boy. Oh, I'm in stitches. We'll be planning a similar surgery for my son - we will be operating on the Play Station, not the TV.
Oh badminton. Sounds like us and baseball. Someone ALWAYS has to pitch and someone ALWAYS has to catch, because we all know that Travis will ALWAYS be the batter and Tyler will ALWAYS be the outfielder.
Ack, badminton was never a "fun" memory for me...rather boring actually so I'll have to pass. Count me in for a game if the kid ever learns how to play Uno though ;)
Quite a few years ago Neva decided that badminton would be a great "family" activity and she bought a full set. Thankfully I think I managed to "lose" it somewhere in the garage.
See that? You did end up talking about your kids after all! And I for one happen to like badminton, and remember playing it quite often with my older siblings growing up. Not that I think it will make it as an Olympic sport or anything, but still fun. Hmm, maybe this is a way to keep Busy Boy away from the television, too - by making HIM play badminton with the preschooler formerly known as Busy Baby (wow, that takes long to type out - ever thing of changing his name to a symbol instead? Ya know, like Prince did?)

Oops, my bad on the double post. Clicked the mouse twice. Sorry!
Have a wonderful weekend!
I made the mistake of telling my kids that I coached badminton (for one season; it was horrible) and last summer they decided they wanted to play. But not with each other, with me! Always with me.
Sadly, our badminton set seems to be missing this summer. Charlie is a little sad. I think he will get over it.
Good to know that mine isn't the only one with a tv fused to his eyeballs! LOL I'm not sure what we would do without Dora and Diego!
Hey Bizmo,
Haven't been here in a while. I expected more but that's ok...I'm accustomed to these things.
Nah...I'm kidding...just want to check on the bizzy fam.
ahhh, and what balmy weather for a good rousing round of badmitton!
Badmitton is hard on a tennis player's ego.
Ah badmitton. My daughter called it "birdie" and we too had to play that with her at her whim along with Candyland and various other assorted bored *cough* board games.
Re Susan- coach badmitton? Seriously? I didn't know things could get that serious!
God, badminton. All that running around? Gasping for air? Just for "entertainment"?
I hope YOU like it....
I noticed that many of the Scripps Howard National Spelling Bee finalists listed badminton as a hobby.
Enjoyed your perspective at Philip's today!
I remember forcing my parents to play badminton repeatedly too. Hopefully, it is just a phase. At least he is out and away from the tv!
Once you scrape Busy Boy from the tv, can't he go on Badminton duty? I loved the sound of the birdie on the racket... such a distinctive THWACK!
Haha - badminton!
In our family, it's hockey - ever since viewing the Stanley Cup playoffs.
Our 5-year-old plays in the driveway with a hockey stick and a crushed plastic pop bottle. Drives my husband crazy!
No thanks on the badminton....games like that seem to "magically disappear" around here, or lose batteries (aw, dangit!).
Got one going to camp tomorrow. He's already packed and raring to go. Already got a sunburn to take with him. Along with a huge bottle of Solarcaine with aloe.
Badminton? Me! me!
Hey, you can actually play badminton by bouncing the shuttlecock up in the air repeatedly with the racket ;) Have fun.
I did the badminton thing, three times. It's good to know it's an international problem. Dom's off to university in September, I'm already overloaded with instructions , what she needs etc. Anyone got a spare microwave oven?
Can you reccomend a good surgeon for the tv eyeball removal because Princess has a NASTY case!
TV surgically removed! that is hilarious. I have the same problem with my kids. All they do is watch tv now that school is out. And whats worse is that the programming is horrible. nothing but violence and sex. Is there anyway to blck certain content from your tv. We definantly need something or we may just surgically remove the tv for good!
