Today is our 16th wedding anniversary!
Our wedding was a lovely day despite my having a large bow plastered to my ass as was the custom back then. The associated celebrations are now the stuff of legend, there were motorcycles, dropped transmissions and the after-reception party attracted people from far and wide. Seriously, since then, I have met more than one person who stumbled onto the party after the reception because it was kinda rowdy and they went in to check it out even though they didn't know us back then.
We are going to honor our sacred vows by taking all 3 kids to the dentist this morning because we're sentimental like that.
I would post a picture to commemorate the event, but, the last time I did that I was outed when someone recognized it and didn't tell me they'd found this place (i'm looking at you, Mr. and Mrs. Senate hopeful) and let me labor on under the delusion that I knew them, but, they didn't know me. As a result, I considered entering the blogger protection program before I discovered I wasn't all that important.

I do think that's the biggest wedding bow-ket I've ever seen. I wore that same Butt Bow. And I had those same eyebrows. Maybe thats cause I married about 6-7 months before you did.

Did you use an entire can of hair spray while someone attached the bow to your dress? I just remember LOTS of makeup and TONS of hairspray! Oh, and the big bow - hooray for the (early) 90's!
Somehow, 7 years after you got married, I still had the same stupid bow on my butt. That's how "behind" (pun intended-heehee) the times I usually am. Or those stupids things had a really long fashion life.
Just realized, after seeing your photo for the first time, that I always visualize you as your cartoon likeness. You mean your waist really isn't a quarter-inch wide? :)

Ahhh...the butt bow. Back to a time when I didn't mind drawing attention to my butt. Sigh.Good god,it'll be 18 years for us in October! Our dresses were similar but I was sporting the french braid. The only time I ever sported one. Oh, wait! You went off the shoulder!! Daring! I covered up my arms 'cause it was Oct. and I thought they weren't thin enough. NOW I know different! Does your dentist offer anniversary discounts? I think s/he should--perhaps a percentage point for each year of marriage. Tell him/her I said to do it!
