CSS code doesn't go better with Killian's Red

Gah.

I accidentally managed to fix my dad's e-mail problem, but, I am still at a loss about the computer locking up. I got rid of McAfee, nothing turned up on various other scans to explain the problem. I am too much of a chicken-shit to reformat the thing, but, I may get brave later.

As for my own site, I think I found the culprit, but, I don't know enough to fix it. It doesn't appear to be the unterminated strings (although I can't see where they are unterminated, but, I will try to get them fixed) fixed that part, at least. If anyone is that interested, e-mail me.

People like me shouldn't be around computers.

Other than that, not much going on. Just trying to get thank-you notes done from the funeral. So many nice gifts and cards are still coming in. My favorite card is from a restaurant they frequented. My dad and I went there yesterday, and, they were so nice. All the management and many staff came to the table to express their condolences.

Speaking of my dad, we went to the doctor yesterday, and, he got a steroid shot. He may be feeling better, but, his chances of keeping his Tour de France title are now over. He's still quite incapacitated, though.

How nice of the restaurant to do that! That must have been so very bitter sweet.

Now that your dad is out of the running I have a chance! Yesssssssssss!

The notes are HARD. To be perfectly honest, I have some I STILL haven't done and really don't plan to, given all that's transpired between my mom's death and now.

If you get in that mood where you can;t believe she's really gone, even tho you know she is, and you need to bounce that off someone, I'm here.

Good luck with the computer issues. Wish I was computer-verbose enough to help.

(((HUGS))) HOpe your dad is better.

Not to detract from the seriousness of this post, but I am CRACKING UP at the Trojan ad I see in your sidebar.

Instead of busymom ads its moms getting busy.

Being a forensic computer analyst, I like to think I know a lot about correcting computer hardware and software problems. HAHAHA, yeah, right. It's the nature of the beast that problems will occur, and unless you know programming and coding, you may never find out what is wrong. AND, even if you know it, you may never discover the flaw. Software is EVIL!

This (and your previous post) makes me think there's a trojan but it could also be a software conflict. If you're broadband, unplug the modem, back up essential files (pics, emails, etc.), uninstall and reinstall your anti-virus program and mail client. If that doesn't help, search Panda online - they do a great job of updating and locating trojans.

If nothing I've said works, email me - I used to do online tech support and although I'm no ubergeek, I know enough (just ask Mamacita) to determine what might be the problem.

Who needs techie expertise with a babe like you? Guys fall down to solve problems.

Sorry I can't help you with your computer problems - my own laptop is actually funky in a major way right now. But I am really laughing over your "Tour de France" remark right now! Maybe your dad will be able to prove that high steriod levels in his body are a natural occurrence. In any event, he'll probably have to cancel his appearance on Leno.

I've done quite a bit of CSS, and I've found it actually goes better with wine, rather than beer. :-) If you still need help, let me know.

Tough duty you got, Mom. I am hoping you get a brilliant flash soon.

Hey BM - don't worry about the bravery. I always find that there is an inverse correlation between my level of bravery and the level of "messed-up" that a computer is. Once I finally reach the "what the he**, it's not working anyway!" phase - I get beyond brave - I start making the threats to the computer (aka - "I"LL give YOU an illegal operation!!!")

Press on!

I'm glad you got rid of McAfee on your dad's computer. We've been using Avast for about a year now and have had no issues.

I hope you get your header back soon, maybe the host you use upgraded something?

For what it's worth from a mac user on safari, you have no head when I log on, but when I view July through your archives, your head (and the cocktails!) are there!
I have no tolerance for computer malfunctions, none. The whole thing makes me craazy and irrational.
Hope the BFam and your Dad are doing ok...what restaurant is it (or rhymes with)? I live in da hood.

Have you defragmentized? Sometimes that helps just in overall computer speed? I'm not so good on the computer, but IT guys always seem to want to start w/ that...

Ugh, the technical stuff! Definitely not something you want to be dealing with right now.

That's awesome about the restaurant. Good luck with the thank you notes. I can't imagine. I hated them after wedding and baby showers. After a funeral, I think they might push me over the edge.

Thinking of you.

I can see you again! Whoo! Glad you got it fixed, I was missing my daily smile from the BM ;)
