Get off your tuffett

Today marks 2 weeks since my mother's funeral. In some ways it seems like a long time ago, and, in others it seems like it just happened.

I was sitting on the front porch (the last remaining place around here that doesn't have someone watching TV in it) this lovely evening talking to one of her friends on the phone. I was enjoying the warm weather, a full moon and feeling all warm and fuzzy that these people care enough about me to keep in touch, when I noticed a spider spinning her web.

She had just begun her task, so I watched intently as she patiently and steadily moved toward her goal. As I pondered my own life, It really made me think,

LMFAO!!! you are silly! :)

Heh I was all ready for a lengthy pour out your soul after I click read more. You are too funny

Word! And think about all those soccer shoes that poor BusyMom Spider has to buy.

But I'm not sure she has to worry about ear piercing, so I call this one a draw! :-)

As I am terrified of spiders, I would have gone screaming off the porch.
You are one brave lady, in a lot of different ways.

Hee. Funny!

I feel like I spin my web everyday, picking up after three others who DO NOT KNOW where their things go? Oh, sorry.

Bwah-ha-ha! Laughter lightens the mood after a deep thought...

What a deep & insightful revelation about yourself, thank you for sharing.

(she says with an extra heeping helping of sarcasm)

It's crazy enough that we purposely had children....spinning a web would just put me over the edge. Although I can not speak for you.

You said it, sistah!

I have an endless sweater that I'm knitting, does that count? Come to think of it, I think I see a few flies trapped in here...

BTW...I'm so glad to have you to read!
Thanks!

Took Lauren (6) to see Barnyard Sunday night and we caught the preview for Charlotte's Web, it'll be out for the holiday season. We read the book and watched the old movies this past winter - very exciting spider news.

A spider spinning a web is just like you going to Target or Kroger. It's dinner time, there's nothing to eat so you must get food. But the spider has to set the table first in order to "entertain" the guests/main course! ;)

Funny! The busy spider at the busy house! Be careful they don't turn that in to a reality show...

Great ending! I'm so glad I clicked the 'read more' to read it.

yea, but she does not have 3 kids to chauffeur, 28 loads of laundry to wash, fold AND put away, a sink full of dirty dishes and toilets that needs scrubbing... huh? that web is sounding easier and easier!

It makes me cry how you hide your devastion behind humour. I know you're trying to buck up but I hurt for you...and i hate my mother.

Here I was ready to cry with you and instead I laughed my ass off. Damn Busy Spider.

Ain't that the truth!

two weeks already.. sheesh... you're right about time being relative to what we're going through. I'm 37 weeks pregnant and that spider web is sounding like just the right place for me to plop down right about now.

Amen, sister.

Beautiful post. I always cry during Charlotte's web, so spiders are special to me I guess.

Okay, I just killed a spider in my cube at work and then I thought of you and felt guilty. How sad am I?
