Sunday Stuff

Sunday night? Huh? Where did today go?

I had such plans, oh, the plans. I was going to get wild and clean the den followed by a rousing round of "Put the Junk on the Stairs Away" followed by, Fold! That! Laundry!

Instead, I have been trying mightily not to inflict bodily harm on my middle child who woke up on the wrong side of the damn house this morning, and, has stayed there.

The digital camera is missing. It's not like it has gotten up and left the house, but, I cannot stand it when I can't find something. I know it will turn up, but, I tend to get fixated on stuff when I can't find it. It doesn't even have to be really important stuff, either.

There are times when no one in the house can rest until we find the battery pack for the Terrain Twister.

My poor husband.

My poor dog. Our 17 year old dog just got stuck under the bed in her room.

Sometimes, she'll walk forward into a narrow space, and, being unable to get out, will keep trying to walk forward for quite a bit of time. We think she just does it as supporting evidence to her theory that we are at fault for most things.

She was kind of bitchy even when she was young, but, we love her. Yes, I promise her health is reasonable for a 119 year old, but, we know her time will come.

My dad is doing a lot better, you can read more if you're interested over at GenBetween.com.

Yesterday's dad with a cell phone folly: He drove for the first time since early Spetember yesterday. I was not wild about it, but, whatever.

My cell phone rang and I saw his number and answered:

Me: "Hello?"
My Dad: "Busy Mom? I've gotten to the grocery" (long pause)...
Me: "What? The grocery and what?"
My Dad: "I'm having trouble..." (yet another pause)
Me: "Trouble? WIth what?"
My Dad: "Where do I find that bacon that is already cooked? I'm having trouble finding it."

You'd think I'd have caught onto this by now, but, apparently not.

I'm glad he is getting out and around..

Please teach him to use the microwave. Some of that precooked bacon is $9.99 a package ON SALE.

I think our sons are cloned. We've had a DAY around here with Travis.

Good to read that your dad is doing better. Been thinking about you all!

The pre-cooked bacon is TOTALLY worth it. Makes a blt a feasible lunch hour sandwich.

What? Am I over concerned about this?

You know sometimes your ads are as funny as your posts. Right under this one was the Adult Diaper Directory: Directory of Adult Diaper Deals. Find Adult Diapers Quickly. As in "I NEED ONE STAT!" evidently. Rather funny I thought.

They make pre-cooked bacon?
He's more advanced than I, hell I don't even know what a Terrain Twister is.

I'm currently on "quest mode" for an unopened package of batteries that I SWEAR I just saw. I hate losing things, yet I rarely do. When it happens it makes me insane. I had to steal the chargeable batteries from the Leapster to use temporarily. I WILL find them!

Mmm...bacon...sounds yummy!

OK I think we live in the same house except my parents are 10 yrs or so behind yours. My day is coming I know. This weekend, I yelled at the 7yo because I had not yet folded the laundry and she had nothing to wear [in her room] and so I said, Look for it in the laundry pile!!! I felt so stupid. Like what kind of mom can't put up the laundry. So you have made me feel better already!! And, my parents already call for strange reasons, so I know I will soon get these alarming phone calls. I am trying to get ready. Thanks for the updates; I think they are helping me. I hope it is helping you to share with the Internet. :)

I'm so with you on the finding the lost item. If I can't find "it" (it being big or small) The house gets torn apart and "I don't care what you're doing, drop and get over here, now!"

Then to add salt to the wound, if "it" happens to belong to a 7-year-old boy in our house, he'd better be looking good and hard for the item. This wandering here and there saying (imagine a whine here,) "I can't find it...) will really get my dander up.

Oh, I do the same thing - I can't do anything else until I find the missing object. Of course, I get distracted easily and end up forgetting until I go to bed and then I can't sleep... pitiful, I know.

I didn't even know they made pre-cooked bacon.
