Thinking again. Yes, I know I should stop that.

I have a friend whose son was killed in Iraq a couple of days ago.

I knew the son when he was young, but, I can't really say I knew him well. But, I know the parents and this has really made me look at everything in a different light today.

It's so odd when you think about it deeply. We are living in "the future" yet we are still fighting wars in many of the same ways we did hundreds of years ago.

It's nearly the year 2007, why are we still losing lives to war? It truly seems like such a primitive concept. So very strange.

Yes, I know there's no good answer to this, and, Lord knows I am not looking for your political views here. Let's just agree and say the whole conflict is Paris Hilton's fault, OK?

I think Paris Hilton should get bombed immediately.

Oh, hang on, we may be too late...

I'm sorry about your friend.

I knew that some boob got us into this mess...now, we know *grin*

I am so sorry to hear that. I think you are totally correct on all but one thing:

Its totally Lindsey Lohan's fault.

No real words - just one of those deals where I suck in my breath real fast, because bad news from Baghdad is not one of those things I do well.

I think it's all because of those Olsen Twins!

You are right, but as much as I respect our President, I think if Paris were in charge of our country, there wouldn't be a war.

Las Vegas would be the new capital, and walking through a mall without buying anything would be a crime.

How awful for them. And how sad for anyone connected with them.

Hey BusyMom - my condolences on this senseless loss. My heart goes out to every family - on either side of this mess - that loses someone they love. And if it's not Paris Hilton's fault, maybe we can blame Paris, France?

I'm so sorry for their loss and yours. I know how they are feeling right now and I dont like to get into politics either. Do you have any more info on that family? Email me.

This is so sad. I do not personally know anyone who has died in this war but I do have a close friend who lost one of her former Boy Scouts and she was just devasted. Sadly, war (and conquering) goes WAY back in time to the Old Testament.
