Well, hi there. Remember me? I'm here trying not to cry about my computer situation. It's not for lack of good people helping me with it, but, things are not looking so good.
So, we went to Cincinnati to see the Barenaked Ladies. It was great!
Was anyone at this one? I haven't laughed so hard in a long time. The thing with the Really Tall Guy was a riot.
We innocently hopped aboard the shuttle at our hotel in Covington, KY to go across the river to Cincinnati via the state of Michigan, I think. Seems kind of a complicated route to get from point A to point B, but, I digress.
So, did you know that downtown Cincinnati isn't really where you want to be after say, 6 pm?
Yeah, did you also know that there's nowhere to eat near the arena downtown after 6pm?
Could you have mentioned that fact to me?
We found ourselves downtown dinnerless and shuttleless (locals said the buses were running weird) and it wasn't time for the arena to open.Being the kind of folks that enjoy remaining alive, we did the only logical thing and walked back to Kentucky.
We found ourselves in Newport and were welcomed by the good people of Arnie's on the Levee and ate way too many Hanky Pankies.
After hailing a cab back to Ohio, we went to the concert and had a grand time.
I could be the Barenaked Ladies blogger, I can blog circles around these folks. Sure, I can see it now, I'm going to quit my job and follow the Barenaked Ladies on tour.
I wonder how that would play out in my childrens' autobiographies?
Afterward, we got back on the shuttle to Kentucky and checked out Mainstrasse, where I officially deemed myself as "old". Those crazy kids and their loud music...
On Saturday morning, we enjoyed a leisurely breakfast at the Anchor Grill where we delved into the world of goetta after hearing about it during the Barenaked Ladies' freestyle rap, and, turns out the official goetta mecca was right across the street. Who knew?
We were going to buy some off the dock to take home until we saw the slaughtered pigs hanging out front.
I have pictures, but, they're kind of gross, and, I'm really close to crying because I've had to restart the computer 5 times to make this entry and I'm way too pissed off to download a picture.
And, how was your weekend?

I love the Barenaked Ladies.
You're so lucky.
Glad you had fun. The German restaurants in Covington stay open late (and they serve real German beer.)
Hurry home, with or without computer!
Of couse, I'm headed to Sewanee for the week.
Sigh, dial-up.
awwww I send you hugs so you won't cry.
Hankie pankies? I thought that was something you do in people's beds ;)
My weekend, has been good- I finally did the Thanksgiving shopping so I'm happy.
I had SO MUCH fun at their concert a couple weeks ago! They are true entertainers! And the drummer kept cracking me up, he's just so...expressive!!
Glad you too enjoyed the show!
I bought a Christmas present, the second one I have bought this year. See, you are not as behind as you thought.
Grrrrr - that's for the computer - surely NOW it will straighten up, right?
And I've got my green streak showing for the rest of the post - you lucky thang!
Hey, we might be going to BNL in Denver this weekend. We need to find babysitting. I had a hard time convincing hubby to go. We've always loved them, especially live, but we both HATED their newest album. But I reminded him how awesome they are live and he said to look into going. So that's my job today.
I wanted to take the boys to see BNL and my oldest said he was EMBARASSED to see a band by that name!
Gah!
He doesn't know what a FUN concert he's missing.
Glad you had fun.
I take it the reformat/reinstall didn't solve the wireless problem then?
Doh! Sorry about that, Cincinnati really does suck after 6pm. Glad you found your way over to Kentucky again for dinner. You should have tried Skyline Chili, they are open until like midnight. And seeing BNL live, I'm so jealous!
If you followed them on tour, would that make you a barenakedhead?
What a blog post!! Very informative and also easy to understand. Looking for more such comments!! Do you have a twitter?
I recommended it on digg. The only thing that it's missing is a bit of new design. Nevertheless thank you for this information.
