Hello, there, party people.
Here I sit still in my PJs. Watched the ball drop on TV last night with 3 men in my bed, don't you wish you were me?
Yeah, Busy Girl spent the night out, so, it was just me and the boys.
Who did you think I was talking about?
I guess I'm not a good New Years Day-er in my old age.
I'm not hung over, I've only glanced at the UT game, I've eaten a peanut butter sandwich, and, I'm trying to get some computer work done.
I'm not even going to talk about resolutions because I don't want to spend a whole day thinking of my faults.
If I did, however, I would wax eloquent about having more patience with the kids, but, I think I blew that one at 12:01 AM.
I'm not kidding, unfortunately.
Well, I have joined the delusional new year throngs and purchased large plastic tubs and baskets to purportedly use in a fit closet organization that will probably be over by January 2nd.
I wonder what a sales chart of organizational thingys purchased between December 26th and January 1st looks like?
The kids have to go back to school tomorrow, that just doesn't seem right. Theoretically, we wouldn't be able to go to a theoretical New Years Day party this evening, even if we wanted to.
Though this really has nothing to do with anything, I remember one New Years Day (before kids) when we went to someone's house to watch football, and, we ended up spending something like 14 hours just lying around eating and watching TV, only rising to go to the restroom.
It was exhausting.

I mis-read that as "new years thongs" and thought "now there's a resolution I could get behind!"
All hail Prince!!! He can party like it's 1999 forever. We, on the other hand, will not. I too, spent the night with two additional bed compainions; my 8 yo son and (almost) 6 yo daughter. Now, after a rousing game of Trouble, and having spent the entire morning (until 11:30!!) in my pjs am I only sitting down to see what's going on this first day of January 2007 and you were one of my first stops!!!
Happy New Year!
ps Can we add "Happy New Years" to the list of words to be banished or does it not count because it is just bad grammar?
Ah, yes, the pj wardrobe for one more day. Love it. We go back to school on the 3rd. One more day of wallowing around, wondering where all the time went and how getting out of bed after 10 can possibly have any influence on why we didn't get anything accomplished during the holidays.
Happy 2007!
I would give ANYTHING for my kids to go back to school tomorrow. Instead, we're going to the dentist.
Happy New Year! I need to eat some more dip now, if you don't mind.
I also have about two dozen bins in my house that my husband bought yesterday (LOL), perhaps I'll get organized too...
Happy New Year :)

For some reason I saw it as New Years Thongs too... Hmm. Happy New Year!!!
I remember a long time ago you posting a picture of your closet before and after some organizational tub thingies..I'm just sayin'.
Our midget doesn't go back to school till the 9th..wanna trade?
Just saying Happy 2007!
And my offspring go back tomorrow...WOOHOO!...I mean, Awwww, I'll miss them so. :-)
Dear Mom: Just so you know, it still is.
I skipped the organizational thing and started throwing stuff away.
"I wonder what a sales chart of organizational thingys purchased between December 26th and January 1st looks like"
We live lots of miles from each other but I had the exact same thought when I was in a Wal Mart SuperCenter just before New Year's. The jabbing and pushing and cart ramming was worst than the Christmas shoppers' demolition derby I had witnessed a few days earlier....all over who would get which red or green Rubbermaid container to store the plastic Mary and Joseph in. At least the store had stopped the Christmas music soundtrack.
Happy New Year, yes I too have decided no resolutions...at least none that can be broken immediately. As for school my kids got an extra day off because Ford died. Don't know if that is with all schools but I know the military schools are doing this.
I'm also having delusional thoughts of organization. I told the hubby just this morning that Friday is "Goodwill" drop off day and to make a pile that I will haul off. The state of our closets is scaring me.
I need more patience with my kids, too.
And isn't amazing how we had the time and energy to just lounge around and DO NOTHING years ago?! ;)
You are pretty and funny. (I've decided that all of my comments should start this way from here on out. Good?) We bought numerous plastic bins and they are all filled and tucked away in attic and under bench in breakfast nook. Jealous? Heh heh.
Great post, first visit to your blog. Happy New Year!
You seem to have it SO together...and I know you check your comments...wondering you have any parenting tips for a going crazy mom of four...I have an 8 year old daughter, almost 6 year old son and 2 1/2 year old twins (boy/girl). For some reason, I cannot get my mind wrapped around the craziness in my house and expect it to run somewhat smoothly...the two oldest are constantly doing something they know they are not supposed to be doing and the twins are into EVERYTHING with a vengance...I consider myself a Christian...I want to be a good parent...I've read all the books, tried all of the "gimics". Nothing seems to work. I am not doing my quiet time like I should and I am going insane...I apologize for the monologue...I just wanted to know if you had any friendly or even smack me in the head advice. Thanks! Tamara
Hi, sorry for enquiring this question here, but I can’t find a contact form or something so I felt like I leave my question here. I run a blogengine blog but I am receiving large amounts of spam. I see u use wordpress, is it trouble-free to regulate spam with wordpress or doesn't it make any difference? I hope you will respond to my comment or maybe send me an email with your answer if you don't want to approve the comment. Best regards, Annie
