Everything will always be alright when we go shopping

I'm on our 8th Annual Girl's Trip to the beach, and, one of our basic missions is shopping.

Well, sleeping, and, shopping are the main missions, but, apparently, I'm unable to sleep in any longer as evidenced my waking up own my own at 6:45am despite being alone in a luxurious room in a beach front house, but, I can still shop!

However, we usually go in January, and, being as this is February, it's just different.

There's usually a frenzy of capitalist consumption beginning at the Gap outlet, and, continuing for days. I mean, the Chamber of Commerce anticipates our visit each year and depends on us for the post-holiday economy boost.

There's nothing I need want there, and, I only came back with one bag o' stuff, when we've usually filled both vehicles to capacity by now. There's just no winter bargains to be had, and, the stores are full of Spring stuff.

I am not feeling the outlet love here, people.

Is it bad that I got all fired up about going to Target, though?

I fully admit to going to Target when I'm visiting another city. I just like to see what's there, and, maybe check for a couple of things that are hard to find at home. I did have some luck finding shorts for Busy Boy.

But, my favorite part is the travel sized items aisle.

I love, love, love tiny little versions of toiletries and things. I have quite the collection of hotel soaps and shampoos. Maybe I'll take a picture of it for you sometime.

Wow. I can't decide what's worse, the fact that I just told you that I visit Target on purpose if I'm out of town, or, that I get excited about the travel sized items aisle.

Last time my best friend visited from the other side of the country one of the items on our "To Do" list was to visit one of the local Target stores.... it's two stories and has a special escalator just for carts.

The travel sized.......umm...implements, probably grow beyond comprehension of mortals.

I'm so with you on visiting Target while outta town. Only I not only go to Target, I go to every single store I see that they have in our town, just to check and see if they have different/better stuff and how the prices compare. It drives my husband crazy.

I haven't even read your actual post yet; I got hung up on the title, which transported back to a BNL concert I went to once. "Oh, you know that it's going to be all right, I think it's gonna be all right (all right), yeah, you know that it's going to be all right, when we go sho-o-ping!"

We went to the outlets in Florida before Christmas and with all of the shopping that we did, I bought almost all of m gifts at a Super Target. I had never seen a Target so large or with so much STUFF. Amazing. It was worth the drive.

Hope yall are having fun and that where you are is warm!

Glad to know I'm not the only one who gets a kick outta mini-shampoos *chuckle*

Yea, that's . . . um . . . shocking. What next? You collect salt and pepper packets from Denny's? :)

Oooh, I love the cute travel sized stuff! And yes, Target is a good, nay great travel destination. At least for sundries... those cute little travel ones... ok, I'll stop now

Checking out a foreign Target is like when you go to a restaurant and one kids has to "go" and then they all do and it's an excursion for discovery!

I'm still trying to figure out why there would be anything wrong with telling us these things. I mean, doesn't everyone?

Well, not everyone, as I couldn't convince the rest of the family to hit Target down in Music City this weekend. The closest we got was Harris Teeter.
