We saw Blades of Glory last night.
I wasn't really planning on going to a movie, but, through some preteen guerilla tactics, which will be discussed at a later time, I saw one anyway.
It was pretty good, I wanted to be blown away, but, I wasn't. I'm not sure there are any truly funny movies out there anymore.
It has more of a storyline than I thought is would have, and, there are for sure some laugh out loud moments.
As far as taking the kiddies, most of it is OK, but, certainly not all. There's some crude sexual humor in a couple of parts, as the main character is a sex addict (hell-o Googlers). I think it would just depend on how your child handles stuff like that.
Older kids will be fine, but, you might want to send the younger ones to get popcorn at the part where Chazz goes to a meeting.
Oh, hey, Erin and I just won $50 on Blingo! Yay!

I thought that might make your Friday! It sure did make mine! :) I have started plotting how I am going to spend my loot. So far it's looking like a mini-spree in a book store. Woo-hoo! Have a good Easter!
My SIL is completely flipping out that her daughter saw this movie at a b-day party gathering. The SIL didn't check the reviews until after the party and when she saw that the film contained crude sexual content, jokes about alcohol and drugs, allusions to homosexuality, etc. etc. she nearly passed out. Her daughter is 13 and probably a professional pundit on most of the above topics so I'm not sure what the SIL is falling apart about. Maybe she thinks adult sanctioned exposure to any of these topics will automatically make her daughter a delinquent?
We just got back from that movie a few minutes ago. I wish I would have read your post before I went. I brought my 11 year old, my 9 year old and her friend. Sigh.
Your "hell-o Googlers" comment had me laughing out loud.
I recently changed the title of a post on my children's games blog - (the game was "Rooster Fighting") for fear of wierd google queries.
