So this emo thing? Confusing, no?
Just for the record, I'm not overly worried about Busy Boy's hair attempts, it's just that he seriously doesn't have the hair for it, what with the Way Bizarre Busy Hairline he inherited (from his dad's family), he just looks silly.
Besides, he goes to private Catholic school, it's not like he can do anything too out there with his hair.
Anyway, "Emo" is typically a genre of music (some say derived from "emotional") that pairs with a certain style, and, attitude.
Dude, I'm 42 years old, that's all I got about that, and, I probably just made anyone under 25 cringe just because I said the word "emo", so, we will turn to the Internets for our education:
- a video primer (language alert):
Now, take out your notebooks, there's going to be a test (PG-13 language).

In elementary school our daughter Emily got the nickname "Emo" (pronounced "Emmo"). She insisted she wanted that monogrammed on the new backpack we got her for middle school. She started getting teased about being "emo" (long e), and has since covered up the monogram with duct tape.
I've learned more in the past 24 hours from you than I have in a year probably. And that's saying a lot!
LOL, Aaron's "emo". Well, his hair and clothing is, he claims not to be.
hmmm, never heard of "emo," maybe because I'm almost 3 months older than you. You should have seen Michael's hair in 4th grade when he was trying to make it flip up in the front. Then he had skater hair, kinda close to emo. There is hope, though. He has a #3 buzz cut now.
Thanks for sharing...I would've called that Goth, Shows what I know. So the hair's okay but is your son wearing mascara and nail polish? That would be hard to take.
Thanks for the emo lesson. My son was making fun of emo kids recently. When I asked him what emo meant he just laughed and told me he couldn't explain it in a way I could understand. Yes, he's a teenager and I have STUPID written across my forehead. So thanks, now I get it.
The first definition in the "dictionary" had me rolling!
I am so totally emo when I wake up in the morning. But then I actually brush my hair and all is well.
LOL - I loved it! Oh, I'm so glad my oldest is only 9....The worst thing I've had to deal with so far is "Mom, who's Sanjaya?" ACK!
that video was hilarious! yeah, i was born in 1967 so excuse me if emo looks a little familiar... aka the french existentialist movement that was sooo slow to penetrate US culture. emo is nihilism light. it's Robert Smith on a bad hair day. in short, it's got to be a lot of fun and if i was a teenager i'd be emo too.
Thank you Busy Mom!!
Hmmmm...I never realized it, but my sons and nephew have a lot of these qualities. I may have to blog about it!
I'm gonna ask them too if they think they are Nemo
