OMG YOU ARE SO RIGHT!

A travesty of justice, indeed.

I hope she gets a better contract with less restrictions than she would have with AI.

Word.

This is too sad.

She WILL be better off w/o the A.I. contracts! She'll do great! "Melinder", as Simon saiz...

I don't know. She is definitely a great singer and "very consistent," but she's also pretty boring. I can see why Blake beat her.

Absolutely! This was the first (and last) week I ever watched American Idol, and it was just for her. I do think other commenters may be right that she may do better without the AI contracts, though she's tied to the Top 10 tour. I won't go, since I'd have to watch Blake, too. Very little talent and even less fashion sense.

it made me SICK that she was voted off, and not just because she is a local girl. she is extremely talented, and a true class act.

Tell me this, has ONE OTHER person that was voted off accepted it with such grace? Melinda is a class act--- she was upset I'm sure, but she held herself together. She is a performer and an entertainer, and seems to also be an incredibly NICE person.

I could care less who wins now, the other two do nothing for me. Novices.

Melinda reminded me of Tina Turner. She had a-ma-zing pipes and could sing a Jeopardy question (er, answer?) and I'd listen. However, for what the target audience of the show is, and for what they are trying to market, both Blake and Jordin fit the bill better, however inferior they were to her talent. It's a shame it's not 1976; it really is.

This is where you and I disagree. She was completely boring to me, and didn't really have "what it takes" to appeal to a younger audience. Maybe she had a great voice, but there is no way I'd even want to listen to an album full of her singing.

Agreed. I don't care who wins now. Probably won't even watch it next week! I think the show has run its course, actually...

She'll do fine without the AI trophy though... Chris Daughtry's kicking butt. Who ever hears about Taylor H anymore?

Yes, but I don't see her as the American Idol. She shouldn't have to sing the pop crap they commit those kids to. This way, she'll have a real career without the contractual obligations.

Jordin should, and will, win. I picked her from the start. She's got the looks, the sound and the youthful appeal.

And now, I will attempt to develop a real life of my own. ;)

She was my favorite, so I was very sad. Still, she was too consistently excellent with not enough DRAMA for that show. sigh

you are not kidding.

I agree that she's the best singer. And that she shouldn't have to make a crappy pop record for the AI producers. And that as soon as Taylor has more artistic control over his projects, I'll buy his stuff.
