She's still preoccupied with 1982

The approach of my 25th high school reunion has made me acutely aware of the passage of time.

"How can it be 25 years?" "It doesn't feel like it."

Blah, blah, blah. Nothing other people haven't thought since the beginning of time.

I'm not upset about it, it's just that it's really odd to me.

The point was driven home when I got a newsletter from my grade school that's celebrating a milestone anniversary.

It had a pictorial of the school over the years with some hilarious old pictures.

Upon closer inspection, I realized the people in some of those "hilarious old pictures" were a few years younger than I.

It's OK, I'm pretty sure I'm not quite in need of this, yet, though.

(P.S. I have a new post up at at GNM Parents)

My 25th HS reunion was last year, so I appreciate the sentiment.

My friends and I are SO old now...(how old ARE they, Johnny?)...that one of the chain restaurants that puts crazy junk on the walls has pictures of me and my friends from our high school days as the "vintage photos" at the location in our hometown.

It just seems like yesterday that I graduated. Time really flies. Just the other day, I was hanging out with friends at the mall and today I am married to superstar and have a wonderful daughter.

Just had an impromptu reunion with the high school gang in early May. I was so seized up about going, so nervous and caught up with the notion that 15 years changes everything that I could barely breathe on my way to the designated restaurant. And, after a terrific evening, I realized that nothing, or almost nothing changes. Hairstyles, clothing, spouses - all that was different but the people underneath were comfortingly the same.

I was born in 1982. Bwahahahahaaa!

Oh, sorry. I just have this thing about making people feel old. I can't help it. You can hate me if you want to. ;)

your only as old as you feel dear, only as old as you feel,

I thought my 10 yr was rough-I am not sure I will attend #25-hats off to you!

My 20-year reunion is in July. How can that be? The best friend and I had lunch at Bricktops today and were plotting our "lose 5 pounds asap" strategy (over chicken fingers and fries no less.) Hey, I drank water.

Oh, Karly. I work with several young whipper snappers like you. ;) It's always a little odd to realize someone was born the year you were in junior high and you're working together!

It hit me the other day watching Hannah Montana. Brooke Shields is OLD now.

Being smack dab in the middle of a mid-life crisis (including a 40-lb weight loss), this post is rght up my alley.

My 20th is this year. I was only 7 20 years ago though. Right?

I LOVE your blog! So inspiring, and I can definatly identify, lol! :-)

I have two words for you:

Romy and Michele.

I graduated high school in '82. I got married in '82. It was the best year EVER!

However...we may be ready for that Midlife crisis Camp! Anybody got a cheap convertible?
