Stationary Sunday

I'm a Top Mommma! I apparently submitted myself to Top Momma, go vote for me, so I can stay on the front page, because if I stay on the front page, then, well, I'll...be on the front page.

The party was a rousing success, a good time was had by all.

The Not Yet Kindergartener Formerly Known as the Preschooler Formerly Known as Busy Baby graduated from preschool Friday night in all his cap and gown glory, and, he's a free man as he will be home all summer with Busy Dad.

I would show you graduation pictures, but, I have hurt my back somehow, and, I am on the back porch, and, can't move to go get the camera, since the wrought iron porch furniture seems to be the only place I can sit that doesn't cause spasms.

Apparently, my downfall was sleeping.

Yeah, who knew sleeping was so hazardous?

I may have to give up that nonsense soon, if this is the result.

It's not even the crazy exercise thing, either, because I had to lay off a couple of days because I did something to my calf.

Lordy, I'm really a 90 year old woman, aren't I?

No, actually, there are 90 year old women getting around better than I am right now.

Busy Dad apparently told Busy Boy he can have a friend over because a car just drove up and deposited an 11 year old boy.

Lovely, Busy Dad is also leaving in a couple of hours, and, Busy Girl isn't here.

Speaking of Busy Girl...

Parents? You are driving me batshit with this going to the movies thing.

This week's version is way too long to type out, but, suffice to say, you need to be very clear about what you're inviting my 12 year old to do.

Internet? If I invite your 12 year old to the movies, I promise, not only will I be there, I will let you know who else is coming, and, I promise it'll be people I know.

I still can't really move, and, I've had a large glass of lemonade, I'll let you draw your own conclusions about this dilemma.

You need at least 800 mg of ibuprofen, now, and at least 400 every 4 hours for an unknown length of time. Trust me, it won't kill your liver, mine is still working, I think. I hurt mine 2 weeks ago tomorrow and can move almost with discomfort today. I tried ibuprofen, ice, dry heat, moist heat, stretching, walking, swimming and calling my sister and mother for narcotics (they didn't have any and I would prefer not to show my face at the ortho clinic, since I have to interact professionally with the residents and don't want them to know what a weenie I am.) I don't know what I did this time, but it had something to do with cooking. Ha! Learned my lesson; I won't do that again.

I don't know what to say about the movies, other than keep your interogation skills sharp.

I'm off to the beach tomorrow with 2 teenage boys. Pray for us.

Oops! Well, of course the ibuprofen won't damage your liver, it'll damage your kidneys. But you can get another kidney.

Thank you for holding similar values. I don't know if you have read my blog recently, but I've had to deal with a issue similar to this. A former student wanted to come visit for the day, and oh yeah, could she also bring a friend who was spending several days at her house? I said no because I don't know the friend and the parents don't know me. Former student was not very happy, but I was not about to be put into a position of hosting a girl whose parents didn't know where their she was.

I am recovering from back-to-back parties for my daughter's birthday. I know I still have legs, but they currently feel more like lead weights right now. I am sure the pain will soon follow.

The one things I have to say about the movie situation, is you have to also remember your own ice skating fiasco and how off guard parent's can be at times when word of an event gets out. (just a thought)

I herniated a disk in my lower back (against my sciatica) in December and ended finally having to get cortisone shots in March. But they worked so I'm totally down with them. Anyway, my back Dr. said Motrin is more effective then ibuprofen for a back injury. And ICE, Lots and Lots of ICE. (Sleeping, when I could, was actually one of my downfalls too.)

Ok I voted...good luck

Ethyl alcohol in the lemonade...you may still be hurt, but you'll care a lot less.

I did the groupie thing and voted.

My osteopath says the two worst things in the world for backs are computers and beds! Having suffered a lot of back problems, my heart goes out to you ...
