Monday, June 4
Back to the present

Still half crippled with whatever's wrong with my back.

Yesterday was not pretty, but, I think I'm getting better.

Stayed home from work today since none of you Twitter-ers would bring me liquor like I asked.

I would kick your asses, but, you'll have to come closer, and, stand up because I can neither chase you, nor, bend over to kick you if you happen to fall to the floor.

Today being the first official day of summer, everyone is still trying to find their rhythm.

There's way too much, "I'm hungry" going on, and, a baseline level of non-specific malcontented-ness.

Two of the Four Lads n' Me family are spending the afternoon here, so, Busy Boy and The Not Yet Kindergartener Formerly Known as the Preschooler Formerly Known as Busy Baby are entertained for the moment.

Four Lads n' Me (occasional commenter, though I think she's abandoned me), and, the Big Lad are traveling somewhere or another, and, the other lad is off somewhere else.

I'm trying to get some online work done, but, I'm not doing a very good job of it.

Children apparently don't understand the universal, "Go Away", sign of someone using the computer with earphones.

Who knew?

Oh, look, the Apple iPhone is coming out July (sorry) June 29.

OK, I might have a little problem with a lack of focus.

OMG you almost gave me a heart attack when you said July... The iPhone, mercifully, is coming out June 29.

I only decided yesterday that I was going to get one of these, so thanks for the link to the news! I hadn't heard yet.

I hope your back gets better soon. I'd be happy to come over and let you toss insults at me while you're incapacitated -- IM me and we'll set up a date/time.

I would have brought gin, but I tripped and pulled some kind of muscle in my butt. Old age, she is killing me.

The surly eldest goes to camp tomorrow and I am happy!
So does one of his brothers, and I am sad.

Conflict!

Oh man, I'm sorry you are having such probs! And I didn't see your cry for alcohol-related help yesterday on Twitter, but you probably wouldn't have wanted to wait for it to come all the way from Memphis anyway... ;)

Feel better soon!

What? The Captain (of Morgan) didn't come in? I could have sworn I sent him sailing your way.

Er, maybe it was the apple cider vinegar from rinsing my hair out that I sent your way - not much difference.

I had some GREAT rum for you (gift wrapped and everything) but then the planets mis-aligned and I found a fortune cookie that said "drink up" and, well, sorry about that.

Maybe next time.

(and you wouldn't believe how many damn fortune cookies I had to open before I found that one)

Roses are Red
Violets are blue
I am distractable
Look, there's a butterfly!

You know they don't sell liquor on Sundays in MN. They also don't sell cars. My mom says to blame the Lutherans; convenient since we're Catholic & all.

Anyway it is totally the fault of another religion that I couldn't deliver to you a fantastic bottle of something strong. The small matter of actual driving distance is something we can ignore.

On the first day of summer vacation there was at least one child in my office at all times. It was a revolving door of: "I'm hungry" "he hit me" "she is singing too loud" "he is hogging the computer" "I am still hungry"

I am already singing the my Christmas fave - "And Mom and Dad can hardly wait for school to start again........It's begining to look a lot like Christmas..."

Here's hoping that back is better soon! I'm sure some Kentucky bourbon would do the trick. Since you're south of me, I should be able to stick some in a wagon on I-65 and gravity will do the rest, right?

Last day of school here, so I'm enjoying my freedom!

Why, oh why did you have to introduce me to the wonders of the iPhone? Now I want one, but the $600 dollars it will cost is insane! Guess we'll have to live without groceries for a month or two. Oh well, the things we'll do for technology!

Sorry I am currently Twitter-challenged. :(

Oh, and around here, using the computer is seemingly the universal sign for, "Daddy I need you" whereas if I put on the headphones, it is "Daddy, I need to sit on your lap and see what you are doing, and ask you a hundred questions so you will remove the headphones.

P.S. I can't wait until June 30th, so I can stop hearing about that damn iPhone.

I just started reading this blog and find it freakin hilarious! When I am on the computer (which is allll the way upstairs) my son usually makes sure he is hungry or thirsty or mad or something so that I can't get anything done. Sorry about the whole "don'e have any liquor to ease my pain" thing- maybe next time! Don't even know what an iphone is- can't wrap my small mind around it..... :)
