Ready to do it again?
Let's make a "Road Trip" playlist. What say you about traveling tunes?
« I'm done now!
No suggestions, but I'm glad that you have enough Elvis Costello on there to (almost) make up for the Dave Matthews.
Hey-- I'd forgotten about the Housemartins, probably because I've birthed some lame boys who think Weird Al produces "music."
A road trip playlist must include "Skateaway" by Dire Straits.
How about adding "Jessica" by the Allman Brothers to the list?
A few of my current favorites:
Amy Winehouse - Rehab
Mika - Grace Kelly
The Kooks - Ooh La
Kaiser Chiefs - Ruby
OK Go - Here We Go Again
Scissor Sisters - I Don't Feel Like Dancin'
Busy Mom - I am stealing this playlist and heading off to itunes... once I get there I will add U2 "Where the Streets Have No Name" and Dire Straits "You and Your Friends"
I am going to be so rocking at Little League!
well, right about now we are ALL ELO, ALL THE TIME!
So I would suggest some ELO
oh, and more REM! ALWAYS more REM!!!
Road trip! Here are a few suggestions for you and the fam:
Accidentally in Love - Counting Crows
Let's Stay Together - Al Green
At Last - Etta James
Lets Get Retarded - Black Eyed Peas
Crazy - Gnarls Barkley
Kiss Me - Sixpence None the Richer
Moondance - Van Morrison
Happy Trails!
Ohhh, thats a good list. There's plenty of great roadtrip music there. The only thing I would add is some Green Day, because they make me want to speed down the road with the windows down.
I love this playlist post. Gives me ideas for my IPod which still has nary a song on it. Thanks!
I love The Hooters! Wait, that sounded all wrong.
I love John Hiatt for traveling. Jimmy Buffett is a perennial favorite. One of my favorites is an oldie, "The Wino and I Know."
Sweet Escape by Gwen Stefani
That new girlfriend song by Avril Lagvine
The Rascal King by The Mighty Mighty Bosstones.
Jenny Says by Cowboy Mouth
Yoko Ono by BNL
Ellis D. Ain't Free Like You And Me is good too. A Buffett for every sitch, I'm tellin' ya.
I have a late add to the BBQ list - Twistin' By The Pool by Dire Straits. I could so hang at your backyard bbq, just based on those songs. I'll bring the fruit juice and rum, m'kay?
Great list. Am stealing from it!
Friday I'm in Love - The Cure
Babylon - David Gray
* Rusty Old American Dream - David Wilcox
* Moon Over the Freeway - The Ditty Bops
This Colorful Word - Eliot Morris
Sitting, Waiting, Wishing - Jack Johnson
*Get What You Need - Jet
Since U Been Gone - Kelly Clarkson
Take Off - Miles Davis
I feel like I'm making a list for myself here. Hehe...
* highly recommended
We travel at night. That way instead of entertaining our toddler she sleeps through the trip.
In case we encounter noisy, bumpy roads or sobriety checkpoints (yes, we hit both during our last trip) along the way that happen to wake her up our play list includes:
Lullabyes
Just be sure you have enough coffee to keep the driver from being lulled to sleep!
You forgot Pete Seeger and "Hard Travelin'". Very classic.
How about...
Road to Hell, by Chris Rea?
Great Escape, by Guster?
BTW, if you don't know Guster, you need to! Check them out; they're fabulous!
Can't go without "Life is a Highway" by Rascal Flats.
I forgot how much I loved some of those songs! The only one that I would add that I can't do without is "Life is a Highway" by Tom Cochrane. Happy trails!
Freefallin' - Tom Petty
She Bop - Cyndi Lauper
Only You - Yaz
Blue Savannah - Erasure
Oh, I'm so showing my age here!
So psyched I am to find some ladies out there that are into good music. Don't forget a few strays:
Colin Hay - Overkill (acoustic)
and just to keep it going on mile 350+:
Hips Don't Lie - Shakira
