So much unpacking, so little slacking

We got Busy Boy settled in at camp today.

I want him home now.

Kidding. Mostly.

This is his first year, he was a little nervous, but, he was settled in nicely by the time we left.

There's only 2 kids in his cabin he doesn't already know, I hope he actually gets to meet new friends.

His counselors are very nice, and, I feel good about him being there.

In addition to having fun, we're hoping he learns some independence, and, self-care skills.

As much as I love him, I don't want him living at home playing video games in our basement when he's 35.

Actually, that would be some people's definition of a blogger, but, I digress...

That would also be bad because we have a dirt basement.

Anyway, we're back in town after back to back trips.

Now, I'm overwhelmed with work both here in my physical setting, as well as my mental setting here on the Internets.

So. Here I sit.

What did I miss while I was gone? I know I missed at least one party, what else happened?

I had a dial-up connection at the beach despite being assured that there was high speed Internets there, but, I didn't factor in one 12 year old girl, and, her IM-ing, so, I didn't get as much done as I needed to have done.

So, I know I owe some of you e-mails, posts, memes, and, actual work. I'll get caught up as soon as I can.

Then there's the job thing I have to return to tomorrow. It sure does get in the way of blogging, and, eating and stuff.

Well, the party in my house is...I decided to move to a different state, with a two year who can only say UP with the urgency I say coffee in, hold your breath, 21 days and counting.

You got Busy Boy settled at camp while we brought Tony home. Self Care skills? Yeah, I have to work on that one with my son. He showed up with a filthy dirty shirt on (the one that was supposed to be for services) and he wore no socks. Turns out that he had a couple of clean shirts left in his suitcase (he should have had none) and there were clean socks left.

I was mentally mortified to think that my son, a supposed "leader" as told to me by the boys' director and the camp director wore dirty clothes.

"But mom," went his excuse, "sometimes I was so tired I just fell into bed with my clothes on. And remember, we did camp outside one night."

Maybe another year and those self-care skills will be more evident.

Forgive my technological ignorance (as I am all techno-savvy) but what exactly are memes?

Heh heh - sounds like Candace needs to be tagged!

Funny how those jobs screw up the best plans, don't they???
