Wednesday, August 1
Wednesday afternoon, With a bullet.

I can't remember where I saw it, but, the best description of my mental state is that my brain needs defragging.

So, I'm a bit blogstipated (and, other "-stipated", too.

No wonder, after having to hold it in at BlogHer, shutters on the wall in the hotel room opening into the bathroom makes for a bit of performance anxiety, I'll try to find a picture.)

So, bullets. You get bullets.

- Had to go to work to escape sensory overload at home.

- Busy Girl on some sort of mission to spend the night out, or, have someone over every night of the week between now, and, when school starts.

- Busy Boy comes home from camp Saturday!

However, my big plans to clean his room haven't actually happened, yet.

Truthfully, I've done the opposite of cleaning it, and, it's made some mighty fine storage space.

I'm thinking that will not please him.

- It will also not please him to find out he has full pad football practice the day he gets home from camp.

- Wondering why every. single. day. at our house is so frantic.

It feels like we can't even do the simplest of tasks some days, and, don't even start me on doing something fun as a family.

I love the hustle and bustle of back to school, but, "out of control" is different altogether.

- We resigned our membership to the pool effective the end of the summer.

I'm a little sad, but, we can't get the kids to go anymore, so, we will stop their torture.

I mean, what parents in their right minds would take them to a pool IN THE SUMMER? TO SWIM?

Stop the madness.

- We'll have to come up with some other plan for The Not Yet Kindergartener Formerly Known as the Preschooler Formerly Known as Busy Baby because he loves to swim, and, it's not fair for the angsty twins to ruin his swimming fun.

- MIL here for undetermined amount of time to take care of kids (see below).

- Busy Dad started back to school today (August? Hello? I'm still getting ready for a Memorial Day cookout)

- So much to do before we get back into the school year madness.

- I have an eighth grader. How did that happen?

Busy Girl has one more year of grade school left, and, she graduates.

She was just born.

- I also have a kindergartener, and, Busy Boy is in the sixth grade.

- This is the only year of our lives that they will all be at the same school since The Not Yet Kindergartener Formerly Known as the Preschooler Formerly Known as Busy Baby came along much later than Busy Boy and Busy Girl.

- I told you how that happened, didn't I?

When Busy Girl was in kindergarten, I distinctly recall talking with a large group of parents, and, they all, coincidentally, had kids in kindergarten and 8th grade.

I thought it was funny as hell.

Karma. Ass. Bite.

- No, I couldn't imagine it without my baby.

- Oh, I have a new post up at GNM Parents.

- Also, I keep meaning to write this, but, our trip to BlogHer wouldn't have been possible, or, at least as smooth as it was without the help of DraMa who picked us up at the airport, and, delivered us to our bastion of hipdom.

And? She picked us up again on Sunday, and, she didn't even attend the conference.

You should totally be reading her at The Emancipation of a Drama Queen.

- OK, maybe the homeless bytes of information in my brain are out now, and, I can write a real entry.

Do you remember how much fun 8th was?

I happen to have a Kindergartener and a high school senior this year (as well as 3rd and 7th graders). Yikes!!

Constipation really was the universal theme of BlogHer. This could open the door for a whole other realm of sponsors for next year.

That's what all that vacationing will do to you, so I hear.

I will have a 7th grader and a 9th grader this year, and they were weird about the pool this year too. I can definitely see the near future without a pool membership. And they won't even care. It'll be me who is all upset. Go figure...

Back to school = Back to madness in our household as well. With Hubby harvesting now, I'm a single parent for a while. Life turns from chaotic to just plain madness! School starts here 2 weeks from tomorrow. Yet already the madness has started. Just letting you know I can relate to your comments.

So, I feel stupid... school starts 3 weeks from tomorrow, not 2. Do you think it's actually a little wishful thinking on my part? Sorry.

Good luck with back to school stuff. I am in my 30's and greatly miss back to school shopping. I think i need to adopt a few kids to have an excuse to do this.

Okay, just one more reason you are the coolest. BLOGSTIPATED? You are so very funny. Thanks for making me laugh today as I am ready to kill someone...soon. THanks!
M.

So, does your mind have more room now? I am trying not to think about the school madness yet. My 17 year old is still procrastinating on some stuff--just like I would be. However, it drives me crazy when it's NOT under my control. Karma is a powerful thing. (like when I thought good parenting was the reason our older daughter didn't have tantrums...then we got younger daughter and she LOVED throwing fits)

Seventh floor gym bathroom. Private. Large. Open space to do a happy dance with no shutters. Even had a couch to lay down on in relief once you finally...well, relieved yourself.

My secret. Should've shared. Thought I was the only one with poop issues. My bad!

Wow. Your 'bullets' = serious firepower; mine are... erm. Somewhat less serious?

-- Thanks for the comment and the alarm clock suggestion; I hope those rolling noisemakers are something like indestructible because "annoying beyond compare."

-- I saw DraMa's Chauffeur To The Stars post last week, and reread it today. As I understand how things went, you're the one she didn't touch but did lock in her car, yes?*

-- Brain defragging and blogstipated. Ha! [Must... assimilate...]

* DraMa and I sort of have an ongoing Grief Exchange thing going; I'm pretty sure it was my turn to give. If not, well, I'll get a much-deserved double dose in return. Thanks for hosting this volley. :-)

"August? Hello? I'm still getting ready for the Memorial Day cookout."

One of the greatest lines in history. Sums up your busy-ness with great class.

Sometimes I wonder how you are able to post so much with such a hectic schedule and post things that are intersting to people. I'm lucky to find the time or topics to make a bad post.

Just saying, I appreciate the effort and quality.

School is just around the corner now. I am like you. What? August? When was July?

I have a 5th grader and a 7 month old, My 5th grader starts volley ball in tonight,(they called me yesterday to tell me) and I just got the call to return to nursing school on Aug 25. I don't know what these people are thinking! Who starts a semester on Saturday? I just scheduled my little guy's baptism for the 26th, and my sponsors are out of town every other weekend in Aug & Sept and I just can't put that off any longer. I have to get my girl her uniform skirts and the little guy his baptism suits. Maybe I can pick them up at the same store. Any suggestions?

And I thought I was busy - I have a 5th grader who has "lost" his glasses that he hated, a rising senior daughter whose advisor refuses to answer her emails, AND a COLLEGE FRESHMAN son. Yikes - I'm not old enough to have a college freshman - wait, I just looked in the mirror, and I must be old enough to have a college freshman grandson, but I digress. Did I make the appt at the eye doctor, did daughter get her schedule straightened out, did oldest remember to pick up the allegy shot stuff to take with him to college, did I remember that we had no bread in the house, did youngest get over yesterday's stomach virus...oh, and did I remember to go to work today????

Bill, you snake... I see you. Yes, Busy Mom was the hottie in the back seat as I played chauffer, gladly of course. And I DID touch her. In fact, I got to HUG HER!

Love the bullets... makes reading so much easier! LOL! And thanks for the nod:) I have to add you to the links on my page... since they are alphabetical... YOU WILL BE NEAR THE TOP! You like being on top, right?

I am still reeling too. And no tweens in my house! I'm over the pool at this point in the summer too, but that's because I have to shepherd two small kids through the locker room {gag}.

So cool to meet you at BlogHer!

I knew when I met you that you were mean... taking your kids to a pool?? in the summer?? how could you torture them so!

I have a picture of the shuttered windows up in my flickr stream:

constipated, it's the new black ;-)
