Just not with you

So, there was a parent meeting at school, and, to get things off to the right start at the beginning of the year, there was a big emphasis on, "We want to communicate!"

There were 2 sessions of this meeting, and, both sessions were to be presented twice.

Most people only had to go to one, but, a few of us had to go to both,

I went to the first one, and, when it was over, I went to the second one.

We want to communicate!" says school.

The second one showed no signs of being repeated, yet, people were standing around chatting, so I asked a teacher about it.

"Oh, no, we're not going to do it again, you'll just have to ask someone about it."

I wish that surprised me. But it doesn't.

Hahahahahhahahaha. Oh classic. :)

Well, communications is overrated, isn't it? Answer me. Hello???

Uh, what the heck are you talking about?

Can you repeat this for those of us that were not paying attention the first time?

Well, see, we reserve the right to change our minds. Sorry we don't notice you there....

All meant to remind you what it was actually like, to be in school.

Blink...blink...blink.....

Oh wait, did you say something?

Communication? From a school? That's new.

Obviously, the operative phrase is "want to" and not the word "communicate"...So the true message: We want to communicate but don't have any real intentions of doing so. (Side effects may cause headache, dry mouth, nervousness, etc.)

Kind of like the letter the school sent home with the kids that read "please fill out the emergency contact forms and return to the school ASAP as we would like to have all forms in our system before school starts." They sent that letter on the 2nd day of school with the emergency forms attached.

Oh, dear. I've taught in schools like that.

My husband Jason and I probably say this once a week at least..."Good communication would solve all of life's problems."

"Ask someone about it..."

Oh dear!

If you've got an attentive audience, them "communicate" with them.

Adultitis strikes again.
