Greatest teen provoking stunt ever:
At the (high school) football games, we sometimes sit in the broadcast booth or the skybox at the stadium where the games are played.
They overlook the seating areas where the kids tend to congregate.
Busy D. had gotten into my cell phone and was making calls to I'm not sure who, and, then we realized that we could time his calls to Busy Girl and Busy Boy by observing them from up high.
We'd wait until Busy Girl approached a boy, and, tell Busy D. "now", and, he'd ring her phone right at that moment, and, tell her some long windy story about something.
Busy Boy and his friends tend toward the rowdy, so, we'd wait until he was poised to smack someone or throw something, and, Busy D. would call right at that moment, and, tell him to "stop it".
It was hilarious. Well, maybe you had to be there.
OK, it was hilarious to us, anyway.

Dunno, that sounds pretty hilarious to me, too! I'll have to remember that in a few years....
Hahahaha! I think y'all sound like the best parents. I would love to sit next to you at a football game.
That's some awesome family entertainment!! We ought to move up there, but I'm afraid we'd have to keep an eye on Finn and Busy Girl.
I am socking this little gem away for a few years - it is going to come in handy!
OOH I'll have to remember that one!!
Pure diabolical genius.
With the seven-year difference between my two kids, this is a perfect little parental tactic to use to keep my son in line. Thanks for sharing.
BTW I could only write this after I picked myself up off the floor from laughing so hard!
If you keep text messaging like this, mom, we shall take a time out and remove your cell phone from fumbling fingernails.
All Moms who have eyes on the back of their heads know that a little mystery is a good thiing. Keep it up.
It sounds pretty dang funny to me too!!!
Classic! The hope for Busy D is that BB and BG don't harbor a grudge. But, then who can hold a grudge against a 5 year old?
LOL -- that's hilarious!!!
No cell phone ofr 5 years old. My girl is too talkative.I never know how much my phone bill will chalk up to me. Ask me now how old will I then give her a cell. I must really think hard.....
Pamela
Certainly made me chuckle.
Ahhh, when do I have to give my kids cell phones? Staving this inevitability off for awhile. But will remember this funny anecdote when we are forced to get with the program and provide the means for constant communication.
Sometime you just need video to capture the moment.
That is so MEAN! and hilarious!
I love it!!
Ooh I'm going to have to remember this for our football game this weekend!
No, I can picture it. Great idea!
Using your child for illicit purposes. Brilliant!
Heyyyyyy....Britney loses the kids and you're silent? What gives?
That is funny....great blog btw.
Priceless-----that will be a story 15 or 20 years down the road that will begin with, "Remember the time when....."
Those are my favorite stories. Like little family secrets!
