Colliefor-ni-ah Rocks

So, the Titans lost.

Egads, I think Busy D. could have provided better coverage a few times, there.

Anyway, I have to make good on the wager with Matthew, so, here goes:

Why California Rocks
by Busy Mom

1. California's governor can beat up your governor.

2. There's plenty of time to get lots of work done while you're waiting in traffic.

3. All the cool tech conferences are there.

4. Beautiful natural attractions: Redwood and Yosemite Parks, Mount Shasta, Big Sur, Britney Spears

5. Spectacular architectural landmarks: the Golden Gate Bridge, Hearst Castle, In-N-Out Burger

6. Exciting family vacation destinations: Santa Cruz, Lake Tahoe, Disneyland, San Diego Zoo, beautiful beaches, Matthew's house.

7. Performing arts: opera, symphony, Hollywood Bowl, Phillip Rivers jawing at the kid selling popcorn, or, your grandmother on her way to the bathroom.

8. Sports: premier golf courses, professional teams, finding housing under $900K

9. Beautiful weather year-round in much of the state.

10. Other stuff I have no idea about because I've only been to California once, and, I was there less than 48 hours, so, I'm really talking out my ass about all of this.

All in all there's lots of cool people I know who live in California, so, I guess it really does rock.

Unlike my football team at the moment, but, I guess I'll get over being bitter.

There's always next year.

LOL

Very nice. Although I'm pretty sure Brittany Spears wouldn't be labeled "Natural" no matter where she lived.

And I grew up in Santa Cruz so vacationers could definitely stay at my mom's.

GO CHARGERS!

LOL Brittany Spears is more like a 'natural disaster'...but natural disasters can rock as well.

Go Titans!

Too many injuries, sistah - I was pulling for your Titans because of the Vince Young thing (still miss him here at UT), but really, they were playing with the "non-regulars"...it wasn't the usual team out there. I was impressed with the first half, though! Can't we call it a game at halftime?

I'm not even sure what a Titan IS. I am, however, quite familiar with rocks; Maine is full of 'em!

And Arnold would most definitely kick ole Baldacci's butt, but I bet his (Baldacci's) spaghetti is waaaaaay better!

OMG In N Out Burger is the best o the best... in the universe! Their Fries are potato crack... try one, you won't stop, trust me. All my in-laws live there... sadly that's what keeps me away... that and earthquakes and an insane cost of living that is.

MY GOD..the In N Out burger. I made my first trip to CA in Dec, I crave the In N Out burger now

My oldest is a Titans fan, I am a Skins fan, we all mourn..

I just found your site recently and find myself laughing everytime I visit it. Love your list!

I don't know, you sound like you know California pretty well! #2 happens to me every day. The last item you listed in #8 is one of the banes of my existence.

And In-N-Out Burger is great, but this former Tennessean still considers Back Yard Burgers to be unequaled.

I don't think anyone in this state considers Britney Spears an asset. ;)

See Dallas Cowboys fan one week from today.

Time to get work done while waiting in traffic, eh? I guess my 7 minutes "commute" wouldn't count for much in California. :) Love the snow-covered view from my "office" window, too...

In California you can have a rockin' good time with a 8.1 or more earthquake, or a firen' good time with all the wild fires, or a blowing good time with the recent storm they had there.

As an ex-Californian here's another one:

1. The Pacific with water as far as you can see...and The OC with people as far as you can see (I called it the Sea of Humanity-one city on top of another...)
