We're back because we're back

Back to reality today.

Hope everyone enjoyed the trip.

With the exception of the little shampoo incident in the front of the suitcase, I think all of you traveled quite well.

We had a lot of fun, we just hung out, ate, shopped, and saw a movie.

It always goes by so fast.

Next year will be our 10th anniversary of this trip (girl's trip to the beach, if you're just joining in), and, we're thinking about staying a little longer in honor of this milestone.

I stayed home from work yesterday to try to put the house back together and get back in the swing of real life, and, I'm back at 'em today.

I missed 3 of Busy Girl's basketball games while I was gone, and, of course she got to start and had a 3 point shot.

Oh, well.

Speaking of Busy Girl, she was hilarious yesterday.

I told her that a friend had a baby yesterday, and, I guess Busy Girl forgot about the pending arrival:

Me: "She had a girl!"
Busy Girl: "Really? Wait, how long was she pregnant?"

After she processed what she had said, she laughed about it and about 60 seconds later made a phone call to a friend who was out of town:

Busy Girl (on phone): "You're in Denver? Oh, I thought you were in Colorado!"

Busy Boy: *snork* *sputter* *choke* "BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!"

Busy Girl: "What?"

Maybe you had to be there, but, it was hilarious.

If you're a troll and are getting ready to chastise me for laughing at her, just step away from the keyboard ("I can't believe you taunt your daughter like that!" "Maybe if you treated your children with kindness they wouldn't hate you so much!"), she thought it was a riot, too.

No, she wasn't "humiliated and crying on the inside", either.

Hey, I said stop that.

It's so funny because she's actually brilliant (seriously, I kid you not), but, she is also so very blonde, sometimes.

My husband says I am the smartest woman he has ever met but that I have the blondest moments ever. (I was once heard saying "Wait, I thought Colin Powell was black?" I won't put it in context because it doesn't help that much.)

I think we all have "blond" moments. I'm glad you had a good time. Question is, did Busy Girl WIN her games?

LOL! I love it! Sounds a lot like my daughter. She's very, very smart, but once in a while says something totally off-the-wall, and she'll laugh at herself too! It's good when someone realizes they're human! :-)

Glad you had a nice trip! I'm so jealous!

My husband's blonde moment today was, "We need to get numbers for the front of the house, you know in case there is a fire." I said, "Don't you think the flames will give it away as to which house?" We all have blonde moments and it is good to laugh about them. Shows you are human. Welcome back - glad you had a good trip. I am having my first girls trip this year for our 40th birthday. Going to Kansas City - can't wait!

I hope you don't get any trolls because taking some ribbing from your parents is part of growing up - ask my 10 yr old who asks so many questions and follow up questions that we have started calling her the badger - she hated it at first but now laughts about it. We even have a special badger song we sing to her because we are the best parents ever!

Happy Blogoversary!

Hey.. cut the girl some slack! We were playing a trivia game on Christmas Eve. The question: "what state do you find the rocky mountains?"

I screamed out (so to be the first one to answer): DENVER! DENVER!

yeah, my family snorted and giggled too!

Yeah, I can say nothing. My mother calls me the "Absent-Minded Professor." Brilliant, but not always so great with the reasoning skills.

Hey, next time just leave me there at the beach, okay? I am NOT coming home to this testosterone-filled house again if they are going to be slobs like this...

yeah I'm like Busy Girl. Somedays...ya just can't help it :)

Welcome back! Great to hear your trip was a success for the 9th year. Busy girl will have plenty more games. She knows it and so do you.
Regards,
Joe Bruzzese

HAH!!!!

I have a bright 12 year old who has what she calls "blond moments." When she found out that my parents were going to just hit the open road with no planned destination for a long weekend trip she asked my Mom, "But if you don't know where you are going how are you going to get home?"

*snort*
