Maybe it's the 3 day work week, maybe I'm in need of an Adderall salt-lick or something, but, I can't seems to concentrate long enough to put a coherent thought to keyboard today.
Shut. Up.
I think I was going to write something until I got distracted by the fact that there is an entire iGoogle gadget solely for collecting pictures from Flickr tagged with "boobs".
If that isn't bad enough, there was one for Jackie Chan pictures, but, it seems to have disappeared now.
Perhaps I was having Jackie Chan hallucinations?
Speaking of Britney Spears (you knew I would eventually, didn't you?), what do you make of this story that she went to an elementary school and tried to take two girls with her saying they were, "Her lawyer's kids and she was supposed to take them home".
Right.
I guess this didn't get much play because of Heath Ledger's death, but, wow.
Enough with my celebrity obsession.
I got a new camera.
I finally jumped in and got a DSLR.
I bought a refurbished Canon Digital Rebel XT rather than the newer XTi, in case this is one of those ideas I get and then don't follow through.
I debated about several different cameras, and, went with the XT, and, today? I read Canon's announcement about the Canon Rebel XSi, likely making the XTi more affordable for me.
Whatever.
It's all kind of moot because the camera is sitting on my desk mocking me.
My procrastination perfectionism paralysis won't let me do anything with it until I'm absolutely sure I have all the time I need to read about it and learn how to use it.
That would be why you've not actually seen any pictures with my new purchase.
I've gotten books, and, marked websites, but, I have yet to actually use it much.
Maybe this weekend.
Oh, wait, I can't use it until I get me a Flickr Pro account.
OK, back to work and listening to BipolaRadio.
Love that station, it is seriously all over the place.
"Like this post".
Why whatever do you mean by that?

My son loves his Rebel XT. It's an amazing camera. Looking forward to seeing your shots! Just do it! :)
We have a Rebel too and after three years I still haven't read the instructions, I know, how terrible right? Well I just don't have the patience for all that, I want to be able to use it: point, click, get great pictures YAY. If only it were that easy!
Hooray! I'm eyeballing it and after reading your Twit was going to ask what DSLR you were considering. Did you also think about Nikon?
How 'bout YOU figure out the camera, I'll pass on my hard won podcasting tips.
Surely photoshop is already in your bag of tricks? Because I'm too old to learn that.
Yeah, I bought my Nikon D40 so I could take a photography class that required a DSLR. I knew it was about time for Canon and Nikon to release new models, but whaddya do? You have to buy one some time, and the old Nikon was discounted to what I paid for my first point and shoot digicam back in 2003.
Congrats on your new camera. Don't be afraid, just jump in and have at it. It will take great pictures. Look forward to seeing them.
Just pick up the camera, turn it on, turn it to auto and start taking pictures. I learned all the manual settings and guess what? The auto works just as well. You have plenty of time to get fancy with it.
I'm making the move to dslr as well. What lens or lenses did you purchase with the camera?
Regards,
Joe
Have fun with your new "baby"! :)
Just give it Busy D and let him work it out for ya! That'll break the seal on the whole instructions-perfection thing.
Actually, the way you write about him - he seems like a very sensible chap. He'd probably master the essentials in a day or two.
the joy of digital---taking 1,000 random pictures of random stuff just to figure it out won't cost you a thing. You are gonna love it.
Where did you get it refurbed?
What are you talking about? Why can't you upload photos without a FLickr Pro Account?
Just curious, because now you have a FLickr Pro Account (well as soon as you open your e-mail anyway)
Hey, I have a used Rebel XT! It's also sitting on my desk mocking me. I used it a lot when I first got it but then felt the pictures really weren't turning out much better than my old point and shoot digital. Part of it is because it needs a better lens but the other part is because I just don't know what the heck I'm doing! I feel your pain!
