We LOVE, LOVE, LOVE AI -- completely hooked, watch with our kids (it's basically kid-friendly) -- & good for many laughs. We love the part where everyday kids are "discovered" and get their dreams fulfilled. But...we hate the parts when they're cruel to the kids -- such a bad example, so unnecessary, and while it probably makes for good TV, isn't the kind of criticism/behavior you want your kids to see. What gets me is how "shocked" some of the contestants seem when they're criticized -- have they WATCHED the format ???

Um I have gaydar and am gay myself and I knew this boy was gay from his mugshot. This boy is very obvious. When I heard him actually talk, I've known someone that talked exactly like that and I knew he was gay very well. I'm also going to vouch that Jason Yeager bats for my team even though he is apparently closeted. In contrast, all you people that think that David Archuleta is gay...don't think so even though he's very cute and a bit effeminate. Effeminate straight guys do exist, btw. I've had several friends like that.

Personally, I don't care whether the contestants are gay, straight, black, white, yellow, green or orange! All we should focus on is whether or not they can "sing" and have the whole package in terms of a recording contract and singing career!

I do not care for Danny because I don't like his "flippant" attitude. I also think Amanda has an attitude and the blonde, which makes me not vote for them! David Archuletta has the best voice by far AND has a humble and infectious attitude that just makes you want him WIN!

Dont matter whether he is gay or not. Danny has the way to make people watch, talk about and listen to, thats a sign of the star. He got the voice, the look, the confidence that we should respect and focus on. He is only 18 and he is too young to know that he needs to work twice or trice harder than normal people to get recognition, or may be he is getting his painful lesson now. people be nice, this could happen to any of your love ones.

I really hope he will be the next Prince. Isnt Prince has the same traits, good look, good voice, good performance and we love him day by day.

I hope that Danny Noriega try again in 2009 for season # 8. Beside having a great voice, he also has a great personality & a good sense of humor. He is a viewer drawing force and will boost American Idols TV rating.

And who cares if he’s gay or not … think of all the superstars singers/composers that are gay … Elton John, Freddie Mercury, Barry Manilow, Boy George, etc.

What a tremendous lost it would have been for the viewing/listening public if they had been dismissed ...(like Danny Noriega)... at the beginning of their career, simply for being gay!!

Bring back Danny Noriega in 2009 and give the man a fair chance to show off his talent.
