Monday, March 3
Everybody worked for the weekend

Kick it. Kick it good.

The weekend was crazy, not 2 seconds to sit at the computer.

Busy Girl's basketball team was in a surprise 3 day tournament.

I say "surprise" because the had signed up, been told the entry was never received, and, whad'ya know? There we were on the brackets when they came out.

So, the girls had to get it together and play again even though they've moved onto other sports.

Friday night was comical.

We looked like we had never even played basketball before.

The other team had traveled 3 hours for the tournament, the majority were over 6 feet tall, they had matching warm-ups, and, the parents were all sporting matching sweatshirts that read, "District Champions".

Yeah. We were also without our best player.

Fortunately, that was only a warm-up game, but, we were all ready to stand up and yell, "Hey, we really have played before, we even won our league and the tournament!!"

We went on to win one and lose two, but, the two losses were very close. One was to a team (not in our league) that had beat us soundly during the season.

Saturday was wild.

We went from Busy Girl's volleyball try-outs (she made it!) to basketball, to Busy D.'s soccer game, to Busy Dad's rugby game (he's a coach), back to basketball, and then Busy Girl attended a class party Saturday night.

Yet, again, I went with her because no one was sure what the supervision level of the party was going to be, and, I somehow got elected to go.

Am considering giving up health care to become professional chaperone.

After yet another basketball game on Sunday, we finally took my car to the shop because my brakes were down to metal on metal.

Such a lovely noise and oh, so classy when driving through town.

We dropped it off and I shoved the key under the shop door and called them this morning.

I stated that I was calling about the Usurped Toyota they'd found in front of their door, and, I was getting ready to continue when he said, "Let me guess, 'brakes', right? My, you've certainly gotten your money out of those."

They were that bad.

Now waiting by the phone in fear of the total.

You make me feel so much better that I'm not the only one who let's the brakes get down to metal on metal! I'll be keeping my fingers crossed that the total isn't too sky high.

At least you were in town when you had your brakes replaced. We had to replace our brakes after crossing the Rocky Mountains on our way home from vacation two years ago. It was a miserable three hours in a strange town with seven-year-old and four-month old. We were already on the road two days and ended up being two more days before we got home.

Ouch. Metal on metal ain't a pretty sound, that's for certain.

Isn't it sad that we now look forward to Mondays just so we can calm down a bit?

Oy! That sounds a lot like my weekend except that everything revolved around THE WEDDING. I'm really glad that those don't happen too often.

Hope the total isn't too bad!

Sounds like you need a day off from your days off. Hope you catch up on your laundry.

Bawaaahaaaaa-haaaaa-haaa!!!!!
Chortle.

Oh, btw, I'll be with you in spirit as I do about 400 loads. My Raisin-girl was SO SICK. I've never seen her so sick. So sick it hurt me to watch her be sick.

Now I must wash towels and sheets and blankets, oh my!

**sigh**

Scrrreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeech!

Is that what that sound means?

Uh-oh.

Great shot of BD. Reminded me of those days when I stood there and took shots of every kick the kids made on a ball. Thanks.

As a professional chaperone, I'd like to announce to the internets that I have now officially attended more teen events as the mother of a teen than I ever did as an actual teen. Sad.
