Let's do it like they do it on the Discovery Channel

I was walking down the sidewalk earlier, and, I noticed some crows flying around, squawking loudly.

Another lady noticed them, too, and, she spent a lot of time staring at them intently.

I was walking toward her, and, we acknowledged each other and she offers, "I think they're making babies."

Being the polite Southerner (and kray-zee magnet) that I am, I responded with something insightful such as, "They sure are loud, huh?" because I was not about to discuss the mating habit of crows with her.

She then replied, " I saw two geese this morning."

I was waiting for the follow-up along the lines of, "They were doing the 'Let's Make a Gosling' Mambo'", and plotting my escape, when she simply stated, "They were flying east", and, she walked away.

Good to know.

Okay, stop talking to strangers. You seem to find the strangest ones! :)

Whenever I see crows I think of the Jack Handy line: "The crows are calling my name, thought Caw."

Hmm...um, i've had a few such awkward moments myself. And I usually end up mouthing something incomprehensible...at least you were able to spit out a full sentence. I have a lot to learn. :)

Yep, and they are pooping all over my yard.

[blank stare]

Robins are back, too.

The fact that these people seem to just float off into the sunset is a good thing. At least you don't have to come up with a follow-up comment. You can just watch the back of their head in wonder as they walk away.

Reminds me of the time Goober woke me up with "The dog is rubbing her privates on my slipper." Yes, the mating habits of animals. Yay.

That is so SOUTHERN!

In my head, I responded for you... "Oh good, I hate when they go west."
