Since there's no one left in real life who wants to listen to me whine, I thought I'd tell you guys that I'm sick.
Wah.
I did have to rise from my death bed in order to purchase requisite Easter Bunny stuff, and the skank-girly ringing up my purchases says, "Oh, getting things for the grandbabies?"
Bitch.
OK, I look pretty rough today. But, still...
*examines self more closely in mirror, make hair coloring appointment*
It's happened to me before when I was with Busy D., but without kids, this was a first.
In what I guess was an attempt to recover, she proceeded to get out the latest US magazine with J-Lo's twins and describe every picture in the story to me while she repeatedly insisted, "There's no way those pictures could be 'real'."
I thought for sure I was on Candid Camera, but no one ever jumped out to surprise me, so I paid and left.
Did I mention I'm sick?
Oh, sorry. Guess I did.
I was going to write something about all the blogger-PR kerfluffle (look it up if you really care), but I don't know if I have the energy.
I will grant though that it's gotten way out of hand, and while it's a multi-faceted issue, we're missing the fact that bloggers have a responsibility in these relationships, too.
Basic manners and a professional demeanor go a long way because it is a business relationship at the point you engage a company, even if you disagree with the approach.
And no, that was about no one in particular, honest. It's just what I think about the whole issue in general.
There's something to be learned by everyone here.
*puts on bulletproof underwear just in case*
Oh, and be sure to check out Guy Kawasaki's Alltop Dads, too for some good blog reads.

I really cared. And I looked it up. kerfluffle. Learned a new word today! Not sure when I'll use it... Oh, and I care that you are not feeling well, too. *passes the Kleenex*
Ouch to the grandkids comment, I would be pissed too. And also--how funny because I was looking at People in the checkout today and thought the same damn thing--"these can't be real" and "JLo looks like she's had something done with her face."
In reference to all of the PR/mom blogger stuff. The hardest thing for me is that I am a mom, I am a blogger, but I am also in PR. But somehow you have to choose to be only one when it comes to the blogosphere. I choose to still be all 3 and keep them in balance.
Hope you feel better soon!
I learned "kerfluffle" from "Anne of Green Gables!"
Thanks for reminding me that I've got an appointment tonight at midnight with Miss Clairol. I'll be seeing my sister tomorrow, and since she's been telling me she "likes that new color I'm using" since YEARS before I even started using any but my own, I figure my hair might as well be a good color.
I hope it matches the little fake curly thing I'm also wearing.
Feel better soon. Hey it's almost Monday and you can rest at work. ;)
I think that bloggers tend to be in their own little blog bubble. There were some oversights for the events you are referring to that I am sure will NEVER happen again after all the Internet buzz.
I am also one of those people who tries to see both sides of an issue. I'm also a mom who needs to get her hair colored really really soon before the roots are too far gone. ;)
Oooh, feel better soon. Somebody ought to school that checker-girl!
I don't know what kerfluffle you're referring to and unfortunately I don't have time to check it out tonight. Maybe a link later? Anyway, hope you're feeling better soon. That sick thing kicked my butt in Feb. I know your pain, sister!
How does bullet proof underwear actually work? Are we talking night-club classic here?
I was reading about that kerfluffle the other day...and I don't really have much to say about it, other than to mention that, here and elsewhere, I always appreciate how matter-of-fact and down-to-earth your responses to blogland controversies often are.
Feel Better. Quickly.
I totally empathise with you because I had the flu for 2 solid weeks and I'm still suffering from fatigue and loss of brain cells.
Since I'm immune now: (((((HUGS)))))
I have no opinion on the PR issue because A.) I only write for me and B.) because of the aforementioned loss of brain cells which are required for developing intelligent opinions.
I hope you feel better soon! And the grandkids comment is astonishing. Ugh - can't believe that!!
Dude- you are so eloquent even when you are on your death bed...
Hope you're feeling better soon. I had the annual flu bug about 6 weeks ago; I feel your pain. Really.
That checker -- she needs a shoe transplant, out of her mouth, that is.
Umm, when I read "Bitch," I fell a little bit in love with you. Brilliant.
thats great but did you know that at www.nightclub.org.uk you can get a real nightclub reviews and also add your own see what you think.
